I just joined this company two months ago. Got this colleague, he’s technically my junior—abit childish also (he’s 28). When I first came in, he always like to one-up me, not say treat me badly lah, but definitely not nice also. He joined like three months before me.

He likes to suck up to the bosses, but honestly, I don’t think he’s a bad person deep down. His parents divorced, and his dad is a taxi driver, work long shifts, so he always alone at home. That’s why he come to office every day even though can WFH. Seems like he got no close friends, and honestly also not very well-liked in office.

Then today I just found out he going to get the axe soon. Actually, I feel abit sorry for him—like, this office is his only social circle, and now even that’s going to be gone.

So my question is, if you were me, would you hint to him about what’s coming and ask him to go find a job?
Ask him to join edmw.
Alot of first responder & advisor here to help.

If it is just him, then it is him. If it is a group of ppl, it is the company and YOU should start looking for a new job instead of worrying abt others.

I shld say prolly abit personality n performance related.
But i also feel his personality abit stem from his family neglect him since young, mother run away w other guy and father jus dont come home
Nice character development. But i think u still need more time to hone the story writing

Extremely political this coy.
My current project is to sell away one business unit, which he is in it too.
Someone who is tasked to sell away biz unit can ask this type of question? What sort of biz unit is this?.....since you know it's extremely political, of course is to keep quiet and if he ask next time just said heard boss got other plans for you. And who knows someone else might be tasked to sell away your own "biz" unit.... And it might be him
