Mane is less selfish this season as he will square the ball to the players with better chances.
Just that the players may not be able to finish it off.
Some of the goal that he carved out is his own credit.
Sadly, no one in the team is doing that magic now.
Have to disagree, Mane is getting more selfish this season.
His passes forwards just happen to be either bad or impossible for the others to chase after, or gets intercepted.
His passes backwards if you'll notice is getting more Sturridge-like, i.e. when he has the ball and perhaps Salah goes forwards to a more advantageous position its getting more and more likely that he instead passes back to a midfielder or Robbo and then he runs forwards himself to elicit a return pass (just like Studge used to do)
I've seen Salah getting frustrated each time he makes a good run but Mane just does't pass to him - he throws up his hands and looks to the sky in frustration - but nowadays he just got used to it, kind of gave up.
If you look at their body language when they are next to each other, somehow it's not the same as their first season together (just look at the award ceremony recently for some African player award - they were both on stage but it was really awkward)
I know Mane has been scoring a lot of vital goals of late but I still think he has been selfish this season, perhaps playing bridesmaid to Salah at all the prize giving events has made him so.
But just in case people come in and say a selfish striker is a good striker - just know that all those draws - against Leicester, West Ham, Everton etc - they could've have been wins if there had been more fluidity and just those 3 draws meant 6 points lost , 8 if you count (a depleted) manure. We won't even need to worry about goal diff ...
