companies like newstead offer alot freebies, price somehow lower than everybody, item used b4,etc. do be extra careful and check everything, including price.

newstead known to have trackrecord of these kinda problems and many more. do beware.

Also, at cee in suntec. Do Not but at the level 1 booths in suntec Mall. The prices are very poor. Even compared to their own prices in the convention center. That's really stupid.

Only buy if you are sure that the price is lower than normal, and also make sure you check before leaving. Get official receipt as if there is a problem, go back to them, if problem persists, go to Small Claim Tribunal and also blast in all forums

Once I went to funan, I was interested on a samsung notebook, the sale tell me "if u buy, I will give u a new set, no worries".

The asus zenbook I bought from the so call asus flagship at sim lim level one, very bad experience. After I pay money, attitude change say 'any problem go service center'. Then after one month my notebook go in repair. Monitor and motherboard replaced.

Their common technique used:
1. Ask you to pay GST when you are about to make your payment.
2. Give you similar model but with old CPU.
3. Old stock, when warranty already start counting.
4. Display set sell as new.

They are basically your simlim sq lv1 and 2 shops.

They also use free gift to distract customer when making payment.

SCAN or SCAM?

If they teach you how to scan people to see who are potential buyer, then it is a great skill to learn.

That's illegal, gst has to be included except for f&b companies.

Do you think some shops would substitute refurbished RAM for RAM upgrades, instead of using new parts? As you all know, RAM prices are pretty costly nowadays. So there's one easy avenue to cut costs, right?
Wouldn't be surprised if this is in fact an established practice already.

I worked at newstead at one point of time in 2013. Can't believe they're stopping to such tactics but then again, it's not that surprising that they'll stoop to any level to cut costs given their number of company names.

The main company is newstead and their companies consist of @notebook.com and many others on 2nd and 3rd floor SLS...

So many I don't even bother now. When I was working there they put @notebook.com on the office at CSM....

Yup, seen that done even in 2013.
