Hong Kong-born influencer Toyz (Liu Wei-chien) was sentenced to four years and two months in prison in Taiwan for selling cannabis vape cartridges. He began serving his sentence in May 2024 and was granted parole after two and a half years; however, upon his release, he was immediately escorted by the National Immigration Agency to Taichung Airport for mandatory deportation. Public attention turned to his girlfriend, Hsiao Chi-hsuan (筱崎泫), to see how she would react. She remained silent for some time, but eventually hit back personally after netizens questioned her lack of response.
Upon returning to Hong Kong, Toyz posted a two-character update on social media: "Reporting in." Within a day, the post garnered tens of thousands of comments and 20,000 likes, with netizens flocking to the page. He also removed the farewell post that had been pinned to his social media profile before he began his prison sentence—a gesture symbolizing a fresh start.
Meanwhile, Hsiao Chi-hsuan—who was previously rumored to have registered her marriage to Toyz while he was in prison—has remained a subject of intense public interest, despite her earlier denials. With the "Double 11" (Singles' Day) shopping festival currently underway, she has been posting daily promotional content for various brands. In response, one netizen commented on one of her posts: "I’m a fan of yours, but how could you marry someone who commits crimes?"
Some netizens even remarked:
"Toyz is out now—why hasn't there been any reaction from her? Is she just 'waiting to see which way the wind blows'?"
This comment prompted a direct response from Hsiao Chi-hsuan (筱崎泫), who retorted, "Is it possible that I’m just swamped with work?"—shutting down the skepticism with that single, sharp sentence.
