[DIY] 1.5k Budget Gaming PC

Hi,

Posting on behalf of my friend.

He is going down to SLS this weekend to build a gaming PC for 1.5k. He requires a monitor as well and does not need any keyboard mouse etc. He does need a wifi card tho.

No overclocking will be down and he is open to buying from Amazon and Lazada the SSD or GPU.

Please suggest some builds. Thanks! :)

P.S Sorry I forgot to add in the category tag ><

1) Name all games that your friend is playing.

2) State internet plan and model of router used.

Total cost: $1496

Unless otherwise stated, buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) The R9 290X is currently going for cheap and should have a good chance of being able of playing GTA V and Witcher 3 at max settings in 1080p. However, do note that the R9 290X is known for being hot and will produce lots of hot air in your casing during load. You may want to buy additional case fans and/or rearrange your case fans into a negative case pressure configuration to help get rid of these hot air faster.

2) The Intel AC 7260 comes with dual band support to go along with the dual band router.

Notes:

1) Due to a severe lack of budget, a more powerful GPU is not affordable. Instead, a Powercolor R9 280 is used instead. This GPU should be capable of playing most modern and future AAA games at High settings at best. Hope your friend don't mind.
