Hello everyone!

For the most part, my trip is already set in stone because all the AirBnB are booked but I need some help with the Tokyo and Hokkaido portion of the trip. Also, it would be awesome if you guys can point out which attractions are a must see in the different locations we are going to.

As we have visited some of the locations before hand, we just be going back for a few days to see whatever we have missed.

------

Osaka <15/3 – 17/3>

Land in Osaka in the morning (3 days total)

First day - Arrive in the morning, check into AirBnb. Chill and walk around the area then proceed to Minami (namba) at night.

Second day - Nothing is really planned for the second day but is currently thinking of checking out the aquarium, Shitennoji Temple and maybe head back to Minami (Namba) if we want to check out more stuff there.

Third day - leave for Hiroshima in the morning.

------

Hiroshima < 17/3 – 19/3 >

Arrive in Hiroshima in the morning via shinkansen (3 days total)

First day - Arrive in the morning, check into AirBnb. Explore Hiroshima itself, going to the parks, garden and Hiroshima Castle

Second day - Just for Miyajima. Will try to checkout everything listed in Japan Guide if possible.

Third day - leave for Kyoto in the morning.

<< Japan guide link http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3401.html >>

------

Kyoto
< 19/3 – 21/3 >

Arrive in Kyoto in the morning via shinkansen (3 days total)

First day - Arrive in the morning, check into AirBnb. Check out Ohara shrine that we missed on our previous trip and kiyomizu dera (again). Free and easy after that.

Second day - Either make a trip to Nara or visit lake Biwa ( to do some bass fishing, have to bring our own equipment if this is the plan ), find that famous Omu rice

Third day - leave for Saporro in the morning. (internal flight)

------

Hokkaido < 21/3-27/3 <

Hokkaido is where its really hard for us to plan. It would be amazing if you guys could recommend restaurants or attractions for us to check out when we are there. We roughly know what we want to see but the plan isnt set yet.

Day 1 Arrive in Sapporo, check into AirBnB. Explore Sapporo etc

Day 2 Explore Sapporo

Day 3 Explore Sapporo

Day 4 Day trip from Sapporo to Otaru

Day 5 Check out of AirBnB early and make our way down to Noboribetsu for the Hot springs and then down to Hakodate at night.

Day 6 Explore Hakodate

Day 7 Explore Hakodate and travel to Sapporo to take a flight down to Tokyo, will leave Hakodate depending on the time of the flight.

------

Tokyo < 27/3 - 15/4 <
Our Tokyo trip is split into two parts, outskirts and within Tokyo itself. Our plan for Tokyo is to have a relaxing time shopping and will be more own time own target though out, if you guys think we should checkout more places a little out of Tokyo do let us know!

Once we arrive, we will check into our AirBnB in Tokyo. For the outskirts listed (not sure if there is more place we should check out) we are unsure if we should stay overnight (tho we already have AirBnB in Tokyo, double accommodation i guess?) or just go to the locations for a day trip > back to tokyo to sleep > back to the same location if we feel like we need more time.

Outskirts < 27/3 - 4/4 <

27/3 First day - Rest overnight in Tokyo after travel down from Hokkaido

28/3 - 29/3 Second day - Kusatsu > 2 days 1 night (leave in the morning of second day to next location)

29/3 - 30/3 Third day - Fuji: Five Lakes > 2 days 1 night (leave in the morning of second day to next location)

30/3 - 31/3 Fourth day - Nikko > 2 days 1 night (leave in the morning of second day to next location)

31/3 Fifth day - Check into AirBnB and rest for a day

---Unsure if we should wait till the sakura blossom to visit one of these places---

1/4 Sixth day - Kawagoe > Day Trip

2/4 Seventh - Hakone > Day Trip

3/4 Eighth - Kamakura > Day Trip

Tokyo < 4/4 - 15/4<

Own time own target.

thank you very much for reading this post! any advice is greatly appreciated.

1 month trip, jin satki.

- I think 3 full days, or even 2.5 days, in Sapporo a bit overkill. Day 1 go up mt moiwa and come down chiak dinner, Day 2 go the beer museum/garden, odori park, shopping, nijo/curb markets, night susukino area ... finish liao. Day 3 maybe you can plan for a day trip somewhere else (Furano, Biei, Jozankei, etc).
- Day 4 you can drop by shiroi koibito park if that floats your boat (it's literally on the way to Otaru).
- Day 5-7 frankly I'd rather spend more time in Noboribetsu than Hakodate. But if your accommodation can't change liao then bopian. Noboribetsu if you only want to day-use onsen then Ok lo, but I'd say it's worth staying longer to visit the bear park, go hiking in the trails, then come back to dai-ichi takimotokan or wherever to have a nice soak then dinner in the room.

If you're interested, can check out my Hokkaido itinerary on blog, but note that this was in autumn so some places not applicable (i guess) for march trip: blogwh0re link here.

Visiting Kawagoe in Saitama prefecture and if Sakura also blooming at that time, you may consider going this Sakura site before Kawagoe.

I took a newspaper from train station that time got some cherry blossom rec site, this one looks not bad if you got time to make day trip to Saitama Prefecture.

Yea, our Hokkaido plan isn't ideal. Thanks for the tips for what we can do each day! Will also checkout your blog and send it to my friends too!

Thank guys, I guess we'll try to squeeze in more time into noboribetsu.

BTW, do you guys have any advice for the "outskirts" portion of my Tokyo itinerary? besides the locations I have listed, is there anywhere else that y'all would recommend/suggest us to check out?

The last time I went (2 year back) we stayed in Tokyo till the 4th iirc, the sakura just bloomed during the last few days, so i'd say you would be just in time! :s12:

I see that Hakone is listed as one of the outskirts. U can do it in a day but it will be a rush. For price wise, the two days hakone free pass is more worth it. But then the hotels at Gotemba are not cheap.

Not sure if you have JR pass, can consider Ibaraki Prefecture's Hitachi Seaside Park.

Might able to see some blue nemophila, else can also have some cycling there.

Wow, the flowers look amazing. Sadly we do not have JR pass, ticket price is quite expensive ( 2270yen - 1 way). Will have to check if my friends want to go. :)

Yea, that was a mistake when we were planning.

How we wanted to do it initially was to go to the outskirts all at once (No Tokyo AirBnB) straight after Hokkaido with our luggage but decided against that as we'll only be at each place for 2 days max and it would be very inconvenient. (We were panicking as we booked our accommodation for Tokyo really late and "cheaper" options were running out quick.) :s11:

Any place you would recommend us to stay in Hakone? Or should we go there twice? Once to walk around and another just for onsen?

When I went Hakone, I had my Tokyo accommodation and I booked a hotel at JR Gotemba. I did the Hakone free pass activities in the day and checked in the late afternoon. This was planned because we wanted to visit the premier outlet and there were free shuttle buses.

As of now, the free shuttle buses are still available at JR Gotemba.

The next day, we did the same hakone free pass activities on our way back. We were 2 mins late for our romance car aka limited express train. So we just took the normal train back to Tokyo.

On my next few trips, I never visit Hakone. I will just buy round trip bus ticket to visit the premier outlet if I am going.

U can always use the locker storage or deposit with manned luggage storage in Japan. The rates are cheap since they go by per piece luggage.

If you are after onsen, there is also onsen at Odaiba and many within Tokyo.

:)
