1 week in winter

Hey all, I am going to taiwan after new year for about 7-8 days. Being a first timer there, i am not sure what to do and where to go. but i do know of a few things. how would i plan?

i have these few things in mind


- theme park @ Taoyuan LiuFuChun
- some mountain near taipei (yushan?)
- what to do

also, best to stick to only taipei for first timer right?


4th jan: Reach airport early afternoon, check in to hotel (night time stroll around hotel area)

5th jan: 六福村 (http://www1.leofoo.com.tw/village/en/Direction.aspx) (Hsinchu)

6th Jan: 龙山寺 / 剥皮廖 Historic District(morning to afternoon), 士林夜市 (night)

7th jan: 宜兰: 乌石港 (头城 宜兰）-->五峰旗风景区---> 礁溪温泉公园

8th jan: 十分: 金瓜石 ---> 四连栋 ---> 淘金体验 / 本山五坑体验 --> 九份老街

9th jan: Taipei 101 area+ elephant hill(day), shilin night market (Night)

10th jan: Taipei zoo

New year as in 2016? Anyway went there for my first time 3 months ago and first half of my trip is in Taichung. Dint stick to Taipei

Meaning you are going there next year right? Since January has passed...

Taipei de accommodation not very cheap leh.getting around is not hard though..just to share.
My itinerary is
Taichung > Formosan cultural village + sun moon lake >cingjing >cingjing then Taipei>beitou +danshui >jiu fen + shifen > leofoo village>Taipei +Singapore.

First two night in Taichung. 3rd night in cingjing. Last 4 night in Taipei. Went 5 different night markets in total too

when I go there got this uncle offered to fetch us there using his own van. Remembered the price he quoted is not a lot relative to public transport. To be honest, only the soaring condor is fun. Need to wait every 15min for cooling down of the machine

Remember to prepare your own poncho cause the poncho there is super expensive if you want go on water ride. And it's fugging cold during Jan period so up to u if u want to play water ride as you may get wet. Oh yes feeding the goat also not bad. They will jump out of their enclosure.can buy the feed from the vending machine

I won't say there is nothing there. It was okay for me.the place is huge plus there are not much people on a weekday. Go once good enough

1 whole day in Taipei 101 is too much. It is just a tall building with a view. Depend on season, some time the sky is grey, the air is polluted and misty, your vision is limited. Me and my wife only spend a few hours in the late afternoon and early evening.

If you like fashion shopping, probably you can spend hours at 101. Else, maybe 1 hr will do.

Nov-jan is the raining season esp in tpe. can drizzle for 1 week straight.

And i suggest that you should go read some travel blogs on taipei. Or pop by the library to borrow some travelling guides on taiwan.
