But good point to take is... The surrounding... The carpet... Some carpet or flooring just create lots of static....

So generally at work... Static barely will built up one... Singapore got high humidity btw

I killed a server mobo before.
Started to give intermittent issues. It could have been good if it was totally dead.

IMHO.
To say keep the plug on the wall, there are a few variables.
Also, ESD strap need to ground to somewhere. So is ground to the ESD matt. Effective or not, I really don't know.

P.S. To reduce static, it is good to wear clothes of more natural materials.

I killed a server mobo before.
Started to give intermittent issues. It could have been good if it was totally dead.

I also use at work. As you shared, grounding is key.

But at home, somehow all hell breaks loose. Killed my mini RasPi Camera Module TWICE!
