$1000 pc.. For gaming and work.

It will be my first pc after 6 years. Been using mac.. But seems like going uplorry soon.
For normal gaming.. dota2 and some fps... maybe fifa? For office/school work too.. Windows 8 or 7 which is better? Hope the recommendation can build to last long.
Is it necessary for water cooling? Will it cost more than 1000 if i use water cooling.


PS: I don't really know anything about PC parts..

Nope not necessary unless you are overclocking. Watercooling(Full system) would cost about 1k or more.

Its possible to get an I5, but you have to sacrifice the SSD and HDD... And also cheaper PSU (Risky as PSU if goes boom, might bring down other parts, highly recommend not to save on it) But Roy's build should be more than enough to run at max settings on the games you listed to play.

Hmmm... last long in terms of performance sure cannot de... games advancing faster than hardware, so performance will decrease as times go. But if you mean last long in terms of lifespan, is see you heng sway de. But some parts like PSU highly recommended to get good de. This build for $1500, GPU is around 5 tiers higher, and at least an I5, gaming can last at least 3 years, ranging from ultra (now) ~ mid(Future) settings. If 1k build then follow roy de

Purple would be better ones.

Green has a slower read speed over the purple.

Both still runs at 5400rpm. But Purple will have a higher tolerance of writing over the green.

Purple is new in the market and it is targeted for surveillance storage. It is designed for very strong writing into the disk itself.

1tb ~ $84 which i personally think imo its a good buy.

No point watercooling with this budget and no overclocking. Might as well use the money saved from the watercooling to get better performance. And Msi card are twin forzr card

With $1.5k, can follow hengheng build, but get the msi 290 frm t258jgn at $605 and the remaining money can upgrade mobo to msi b85m g43 at least. The asrock dgs isnt well thought out in terms of layout.

Hmmm... imo, 1.5k will be the sweet spot for that level of gaming. Beyond that will be for OCing, or below that, you will still find getting a 280x pretty acceptable
