As topic, since people are using water cooling for gpu why not make the power consumption higher so as to double the graphics performance without the limitations of dual gpu.

There is a limit to power delivery that VRMs can handle and also on the clock and memory speed of the graphics chip. Before you can talk about reaching double the performance of graphics card.

Lol thinking too much. :s22:

If it's about memory speed didn't amd have this stackable memory technology. For voltage it's more or less around 1.2 to 1.5v regardless how much power they draw out. It's more of drawing higher current which ends up creating more heat.

Pcie lane provides 75w power, single 8pin provides 150w power.

In order to reach 1000w, you need 1x pcie lane and 6x 8pin power connectors (975w). Just saying. lol

bigger size chip will be harder to make , more chips that fail qc .... then AMD can blame globalfoundries and tsmc

So wad happens when people start using this 1000W GPU in SLI/CF config? 2000W or 3000W PSU needed, excluding overheads from CPU chip and other rig components? U wan a 3kW computer running in ur hse, average 8hrs a day for 365 days a year? Annual electricity bills how much sia...:s13:
