nope, not needed in taiwan

another reason why ke p was so popular because he was a full-fledged surgeon before he came in to the political scene directly to run for mayor in 2014, and he has already amassed some popularity when he was a surgeon (his skills was rather exceptional and all). the details i can leave it to u to google (stuff like how he brought in the ECMO technique into taiwan) :o

thanks for the leads!

wow surgeon! and i didn't realised he is only in the scene from 2014, feels like he is in it for very long already

professional, efficiency and accountability. he basically runs the govt like his hospital. he was the top transplant doctor in taiwan, prolly no.1 in heart transplant. so everything under him got SOP and everyone has clear responsibilities. this effectively blocked all sorts of backdoor requests, becos every lvl got diff ppl watching and nitpicking, no one can cheong thru all barriers. :s22:

he oso trust his subordinates a lot and delegate powers, not breathing over their necks every minute, but let them exercise their professional judgement and creativity. so his team are all his diehard followers. they dont agree with him on everything, and often argue with him, but they eventually make decisions based on logic, numbers and technical know-how. he want to make his team serve the ppl with a sense of pride and respect, not feeling shyte like doing sai kang for the boss. :s22:

sounds like he has all the traits of a good leader :s12::s12:

yeah for a total political greenhorn to suddenly enter the political scene, no doubt the media will scrutinise him

he was embroiled in some scandals when he was a surgeon, these incidents are the catalyst of him leaving his illustrious medical career to enter politics

edit: and i have to say it's because of ke p that made me more interested in taiwan politics (because its more than blue vs green now)

i would say it's doing what's right and not what's popular

1st key policy he introduced when he became mayor end 2014 was to revamp the roads of taiwan to ensure safety of pedestrians - something that is fundamental but, honestly nothing glamorous to attract the attention of voters

another big issue last year was him revamping the pension scheme - a lot of retirees as a result, didnt get a monthly stipend as the money was channeled to other measures (cheaper transport etc) that still directly improves the lives of the elderly, but the elderly of course didnt appreciate it as ke p was seen to be the devil for cutting off one source of cash flow for the elderly

yah the pedestrain walkway ish really a big big act of kindness. he never force all the RCs to do it, but persuade each of the RC heads individually. those RC zones that adopted his planning, the death toll from traffic accidents dropped 50% in the 1st yr. he saved the lives of so many ppl that wouldve been road kill by cars. he prevented many broken families.

now almost all the RCs in taipei has this designated pedestrain walkway in their zones.

She did a lot of dirty works, hire online netcitizen to say abd thing about han, ask her people go most of the elderly household to check on their electricity meter to scare them and etc.

taipei city reduced 1/3 of their debts in his first term, while all other cities and counties are accumulating debts. he improved the project efficiency from 66% to 80%, and this improvement gave him tons of extra cash on more projects.

rast time govt projects low efficiency, everytime need to apply for extra budget. now efficiency went up, projects completed within budget or sometimes less than budget, saved the finance dept tons of money to be used elsewhere.

All the rich countries who have been doing business with China have been losing money because China is primarily a sweatshop slave factory as its existence so uses its 50 cent a day labor to undercut the world and produce low quality krap. Only those cock losers ****ries like Cambodia, African countries and Kazakhstan “do business” with tiong song song since they are third world Sai like Tiong.

Kindly do tell, what is 1/3 of your nation's entire key cabinets doing in China ?
