11D10N taiwan trip - advice pls!

Hi all, wondering if I can get some advice about my taiwan trip for 2 in end Nov! First time going!


D1: Arrive Taipei 5.30am – Train to Taichung, Stay taichung 1 night
Should book train ticket in advance right?

D2: Taichung – Sun Moon Lake – Cing Jing, Stay at Cing Jing for 2 nights
D3: Cing Jing
D4: Cing Jing – Hualien
possible to visit hehuanshan, taroko and the diff trails on the way from cj to hualien? intend to hire cab, anyone got recc? will it be v ex for 2 people cos it's by hour right?

D5: Hualien
planning to just relax in hualien for another day before heading to taipei!

D6: Hualien – Taipei, Ximending
should i book the train tickets prior to the trip as well?

D7-11: Taipei
Haven't planned for taipei! But here's a list of places I'd like to visit while I'm there~

Wufenpu, Raohe NM
Houtong, Jinguashi, Jiufen, Shifen
Yangmingshan – Beitou – Danshui – Fisherman Wharf – Shilin NM

Should book train ticket in advance right?
Book if you can. But if you cannot it is easy to find a seat in non-reserved cargo since Taipei is the first station of HSR.
D2: Taichung – Sun Moon Lake – Cing Jing, Stay at Cing Jing for 2 nights
D3: Cing Jing
D4: Cing Jing – Hualien

In addition to bus, you can also choose carpool

Book if you can. But the train tickets usually are sold out.
You can try combo ticket

If you reaching taipei so early 5.30am, no point book the train unless you can check in early too. From taipei to taichung by hsr is just a mere 50+ min.

Why not stay one night in sml and one night in cj? And booking a driver is around nt2500 for 8hr. And if you book a car from cj to hualien, the driver should bring you to hehuanshan, taroko etc. But since its one way, they will charge you more. Probably around nt4000.

As for hualien to taipei, book well in advance cos mostly fully booked for those taroko express train.
