u dun need a JR kanto pass for the first 3 days. JR passes are for expensive long trips on the shinkansen and limited express trains. travelling within the city is relatively cheap so just get normal tickets.

for day 1, u can get the NEX tokyo direct ticket for 1500yen.
then use ur 7-day JR from day 4 to day 10.

Thanks, must have been seeing the price of the green cars for the 7 days pass.

The Bmobile should work on ur HTC, tho u may have to adjust the apn urself. Remember to get the right sim card size.

Ur first 3 days, just get their MRT card, aka 'Suica' card. Should be able to use the same card in Kyoto also.

In Kyoto, while ppl usually recommend buying the 500yen day pass for bus rides, I just take the train whenever possible and then bus if needed. More flexible and possibly faster. Tho, likely to be more expensive. But ultimately depends on where u have planned to go.

Well, have fun
