PC all the way! Personally, it's the modding scene and the dedication of modders to enhance a number of games that I both used to, and still play. I'm also quite invested in Guild Wars 2, so choosing PC is a no-brainer for me.

So don't ask which is better
look to see what types of games you like to play most. Then settle on it.
Then get the others when you have more funds so you have the best of all worlds. :)

Thanks for your kind explanation! I didn't expect someone to provide an answer after so many days from post date. I don't have clear idea on what I want to play though I have a few titles on my mind (GTA V, Just Cause 3, Uncharted 4, Dark Souls, etc) and I'm currently leaning towards PS4. Would graphics make a big difference in the gameplay for these games?

If you have time and really care about maximising the experience then go PC.

But for many people, myself included, console gaming for sure. I have a much bigger 60" TV and amplifier/surround sound set up, I sit further away on a nice OSIM chair, and I don't like having to mess around with patches/tweaks/etc. Someone else has spent ages optimising the experience for my hardware and whilst it may not sound powerful on a spec sheet vs a new gaming PC, I'll probably get a better experience out of the box than many others would.

The PC games I like to play (namely CS & Simcity) aren't too demanding on specs so I can play on my Surface Pro 4; and the rest I play on console using a much better controller for fighting/driving/RPG games and sitting in a more comfortable position.

Of course the console can't do much else but this works on the assumption you are only interested in gaming rather than versatility.

Thanks for your reply. I am thinking about getting a PS4 because I'll be pretty busy next year with FYP and subsequently work after graduation and won't have time to invest in a PC. (But with the more or less confirmed PS4.5 or "Neo" coming out in late 2016/early 2017... :s22:)

for moi ish PC, i can do without playing a few exclusives its ok. Online games are plenty and popular ones are available on PC too. If morals is not in the equation, you just need to pay for online games and just climb single player games so your cost of gaming is actually very low. PC games are generally very cheap with sales going on so often actually no need to climb also doesnt hurt not like we going to play every single game ever released.

If you want a dedicated game machine, then PS4.

I will only upgrade/buy new PC if there is a compelling game. The last time I did it was for Battlefield 4 in 2013, and previously Battlefield 2 in 2005.

I made the right choice to stick to console for Battlefield: Hardline and Star Wars Battlefront :s13: I will make the same choice for Battlefield 1 because WW1 hype using grandfather weapons will eventually die down :D.

PS4. I assume you want to get a dedicated device for gaming. While the PC is good, people tend to install extra stuff on the PC other than the games. Think of it as digressing while on the PC. Eventually, the computer will become slower and all.

PS4 is a dedicated gaming device. Won't digress to other software and tools.
