2 months ago lazada had $15 off 30. Bought an FSP 300w which is overkill

Motherboard chosen is colorful from taobao. Good thing about n3150 chipset is that it is newer than 1037u / q1900. it is fanless, has usb3, hdmi, vga, uefi, and hardware playback support for hevc/h265

Casing is Cooler Master Elite 110 ITX
$70-30 lazada discount

Turns out motherboard is "mATX". narrower than standard mATX. Budget asrock motherboard are this size too (23cmx17cm)

Luckily motherboard still fits inside case. 500gb hard drive from ps4 and 2tb and 2x2GB 1.5v DDR3 from 5 years ago. Good thing motherboard supports low power 1.35v and standard 1.5v. Not all braswell supports 1.5v

Back panel has vga, gigabit lan, usb3, ps2, and can fit expansion cards

After installing windows 10, the only missing drivers are intel chipset drivers. everything else just works. Good thing the intel installer from the CD is in english.

I estimate power consumption to be less than 20w.
2w hdd+ 6w CPU + 1w fan + 2w ram+ 2w motherboard. So no worries leaving it on. Can control remotely using Chrome remote desktop on android phone

With samba set up, can stream to any device at home.

You mean n3700. CPU performance wise slightly faster than n3150 and 16 execution units for graphics vs 12 for n3150. But if you don't plan to game on it then no need to spend more

Wow! This is good stuff. I mean if you are really concern about power consumption nothing beats the Raspberry Pi 3. Though of course it is not as powerful as this itx box but it is definitely low power at 2W and smaller like a credit card.

TS don't mislead lah.
Where got $149 only.
You never factor in the SUNK COST in your total cost for the price of the full system.

PSU: $27
MOBO + CPU: $~73
CASING: $40

SUNK COST ITEM
RAM: 2x 2GB ~= $20 * 2 ~= $40
HDD: 500GB + 2TB ~= $55 + $100 ~= $155
OS: Win 10 ~= USD$40 ~= SGD$55

Total Cost for your RIG if including SUNK COST ~= SGD$400

I think this will consume at least 40w power standby

This one need to use Kill-A-Watt to know true value.
I estimate around 25+W.

Also need to factor in that TS is using an INEFFICIENT PSU and not an EFFICIENT AC Adapter for low power consumption.

30W sounds about right.

Haven't factor implicit cost too

Idle around 12w. Never exceeded 20w under load. Should be 1w lower with 1 stick of ram
