I think newspaper need to talk more about civil cases of accident victims. I do know of a neighbour who got 150K after suffering for multiple fractures from the behgan driver.

What I saw, from the first video



1. Motorcycle in front of a white car. The white car could be blocking the lady's eye view (cannot see got motorcycle)
2. Lady driver could be trying to turn right before the green arrow stop, so sped up
3. Motorcycle suddenly appeared while switching lane (suddenly review got one motorcycle in front of the white car)

What I saw

1. Lady driver is not watching her front where it was green light for another junction.
2. Lady driver could be using the phone, that's why didn't see in front where the other side car already moving and turning.

Should be guilty as charge.

I agree. Singaporeans in general tend to be relatively poorly informed about the viability of civil suits that are almost 100% walk away victories.

It may be a pyrrhic victory if one can no longer walk, but at least it is spending money for a potentially tough road ahead.

Every car owner in Singapore has considerable assets to their name, or at least the ability to pay a mortgage or loan for a very substantial asset. It's that simple. They are all supposed to have insurance coverage.

If the criminal justice system successfully charges a driver and rules them responsible for an accident, practically all that remains on the civil side is to determine the quantum of damages.

That lane is for turning right. Even if the lady wanted to turn right, she should have slowed down. How come she was like going straight? All the cars going straight have stopped at the junction, right?

The uncle also has to take a little responsibility. He cut lane a bit late. The lady's car was quite close already. I believe he could see the lady was coming fast behind him. If he waited a bit for the lady to pass, he would be intact.

Go watch the video again, all turning vehicles had stopped for the red light, view the 2nd video there is another bike on the same lane as the white car stopped and waiting for green light, the uncle merely go stopped side by side with him, the stopped biker was lucky the woman cant keep in lane else he would be bang too

She's probably from a multi car household and usually drives a continential. Common mistake.
