$1500 gaming computer

Friend is looking for a computer. It's been awhile since i've built a rig so i'm a little out of touch. Would like some feedback

Budget Range: 1500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, watching videos, surfing the net, general productivity

Are you buying a monitor: Yes. 23" 1920x1080 preferably
Do you need to buy OS: No

Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, but doubt it. not with this budget

comes out to about 1400..which is a bit overbudget since still have to include a monitor and mouse

prices are all from bizgram's latest pricelist

i'm thinking can cut on the casing and mobo/cpu combo..maybe ivy bridge instead of haswell? and a different chipset? friend wants an ssd.

feedback please! I know this ain't the most optimized/value build, but it's all i can come up with off the top of my head

Hmm 1.5k can do way better than that. Better not over clock. If over clock you probably need to spend more with an air cooler or water cooled. Rather you take that money and channel to a strong GPU.

So what about the msi h87-g43?

Is that Adata ram c9?

How about the Antec One? Any reason to choose one over the other?

I admit I don't have a clue about panels, but could anyone recommend one with a little less response time? Friend plays a lot of FPS...not entirely sure if it'll make much of a difference though...

Is there anywhere to get it where they assemble for you? DIY means I have to build for my friend and I don't want to. Had enough of people coming to me for tech support and claiming it's my problem coz "i didn't build it right the first time"

Tbh if your friend is not doing raid he doesn't need a H87 mobo. B85 is more than sufficient.

Yes adata is c9

If you can increase your budget a h87 mobo and a better case can be considered. Right now it is just nice the budget.

IPS panel has a slows response time around 7-8ms.

But if your friend wants fast best to get a 120hz/144hz monitor. That will cost you even more.

other than raid, h87 also have ssd caching for fast boot but need configure

Haha buddy I'm in a similar situation as you budget wise.

What I learnt here over the past few days is that if no RAID no OC B series is good. Need RAID go up to H. Want OC it's Z.

Yes they do offer assembly service. $0-$30 depending on your bargaining skills. Be there and monitor them while they do the setup.
