Would you be playing any games on it? or require a lot of storage?
I would suggest the following configuration; corei5 (5th gen or 6th gen), 4GB ram, 128/256/512GB SSD, no graphics card...

If possible wait for Sitex to see what deals are on offer.

actually i was looking at Dell 7447. About this price with older i7 4710 processor. More powerful than i7 5500 processors that other brands are using for that price range.

Cause i am using some pretty intensive softwares.

Won't be playing games much and no need too much storage. Maybe just 320gb

Should I get the aftershock laptop?

Its an option... I am guessing ur talking about the SM series... The recommended configuration (which comes with windows) is 1700SGD thats way over ur budget.

As for the M series.. I have tried it out at the store (funan)... but I felt that the keyboard wasnt that great .. but I guess this depends on the user... other than that the laptop has very good specs for a reasonable price.

Never ever be stingy on RAM when buying macs if you can. You never know if the extra 4gb will make a lot of difference in your usage and if it does, you have no way of upgrading it.

I'm well aware of that bro but TS has a budget of $1500 in fact my current MacBook Pro 15" comes with i7 CPU, 16GB memory, 512 Apple SSD and GT750M GPU with 2GB memory this killer machine cost me $2700 after trading in my 2011 13" Macbook Pro with 16GB memory and 256GB crucial M4 SSD.

then stay away recommending mac. Not even future proof. everything is locked down even changing parts are being locked. :s13:

Funny to think people there are still recommending it when they are no where to be seen when issue arises.

Mac has longer lifecycle so long Apple continues to supporting via annual OS release we might need to upgrade our Macs unless it is absolutely necessary.

i don't know what you meant by longer life-cycle. All are the same in terms of hardware.

Software wise, Windows still provides support for Windows 7 to Windows 10. I don't know how much longer do you want.
