There are 2 movies.
1994 & 1995.
Both movies done in the same time and completed in 6 months.
If 1994 is a resounding success, they dun have to push so hard for 1995.
The newbies will do all the promotion.

(The storyline for both movie are about Tony.
I am not sure whether there is a separate movie for Aaron.
It will have to something new.)

A third installment in the Cold War film series entered development before the release of Cold War 2 in 2015, with production originally slated to begin in 2019. The project was postponed for various reasons, and producer Bill Kong decided to change the setting from the modern day to before the Handover after producing Anita (2021). Envisioned as a two-part prequel, Cold War 1994 and Cold War 1995, pre-production began in March 2024, with principal photography starting in June as a back-to-back production that spanned seven months in Hong Kong and London.

The film had its world premiere at the Shenzhen Grand Theater on 26 April 2026, and will be theatrically released in Hong Kong on 1 May. It will be followed by the direct sequel Cold War 1995, which is slated to be released in 2027.

This 1994 focused on the HK political situation and all the LKK.
1995 should be young Tony demolishing the triads.

i only watched the 1st movie... the plot couldn't captivate me because non of the leaders of the camps were appealing... in fact... tony leung's character appealed the most to me but he was a self serving old fogey lol... so i wasn't attracted to see the 2nd movie... now they release a 3rd which is a prequel...

So, Part 3 is cold storage until now.
I guess the storyline may trigger some anger or sensitivity from the top.
Or they portraying strong RED powder control over SAR that may irk the hong kong people.

Wow...OK...not that bad for a prequel

Not much screen time for the 4 superstar
Story is focus on the Poon family feud and young MB Lee
