Hi all! Have been scouring the net and reading up all i can to learn about building my 1st gaming pc.
I have an "ideal" budget of about 1.3K. Have shortlisted the below parts using pcpartpicker and watching countless youtube building guides. Am not too sure about the local price, though i will definitely wanna go down to SLS to look around soon. (any recommended shops in SLS i should go to?)
Some purpose/requirements:
- Using it for casual gaming/learn coding
- GTX 1060
- 1080p, 60 fps
- I've gotten the Fractal Design Focus G Mini case and Samsung 860 SSD from Lazada at the recent sales.
This is the list I came up with, please recommend me ANY change that can make it cheaper yet still meet my needs.
- Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor
- MSI - Z370M GAMING PRO AC Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
- Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
- Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
- EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB SC GAMING Video Card
- EVGA - 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Total about $925 USD as per pcpartpicker.
Questions:
1) I have a WD my passport external drive, is it possible for me to de-case it and use it as a 1TB hard-drive in my pc?
2)Intel vs Ryzen, taking into consideration I do not intend to overclock, Intel or the new ryzen CPU will be better value for me to get?
3) GTX 3GB vs 6GB, i read online that the difference is not much in terms of fps gained. However, I see a lot of recommendations in HWZ going for 6GB instead? Any comments on this?
Thank you for reading and I'll appreciate any help/suggestions!
