1st time DIY gaming rig help needed

Hi guys, i've decided to buy a DIY gaming rig after buying several ready-made pc and being fed up with their performance. However, i have zero knowledge about computer building and need some help from you guys >.<

My budget is 2.5k and i'll need everything (ie. os, speaker, mouse, kb, cables, wifi adapter) as i'm building from scratch.
I'll be playing games like crysis3, bf3/4, diablo 3 etc. and i'm not intending to overclock.

Things that i'll favour for my new pc:
good graphics and monitor
compact casing if possible
minimal noise and heat
2 tb hdd

Best if everything can be bought and assembled from the same shop. ( i dunno which shops are safer in SLS also so i'll need some recommendation as well)

you might want to try online shop. sls isnt really a good place for beginner, only shop you can try pc theme.

Hey Kyole,

Some word of advice, for a bang for buck performance it is best to stick to mid range product as competition is very fierce or cut-throat at this price segment.

Mid-range would fall about less than 1.5k for a full rig. (CPU only)

Look around the forum and look for quotation given by nippon for all kind of budget range.

Also to point out, i do not think that you would really be building from scratch.

There are still part's that you can rip off your old desktop, e.g. hard disk, Ram's , PSU (this one really depends), Casing(if you don't intend to get a new one and looks does not matter to you), CD/DVD Ram, heck even CPU can be recycled, if it is not too shady.

I did once help my friend upgrade from a HP pavilion desktop to a gaming rig for less than 500 bucks. Changed a Motherboard, PowerSupply (PSU) as the default one only 350w (my god), Add a gaming grade graphic card.

Thanks for the replies guys. My max budget is 2.5k as its inclusive of keyboard mouse os etc., but feel free to recommend me lesser cost rigs if you think its better value for money for me.

The main reason why i didn't like the idea of re-using the parts of my old pc is that its a 5 years old compaq pc >< , which i assume most of the parts are outdated, and some even spoilt as i've been having trouble with it like once every few weeks (pc won't boot up) I'm thinking of spending abit more so that it can last a couple of years w/o upgrading.
