1st time pc builder, need advice

So I'm trying to build a gaming pc,hopefully it will last at least 7 years or more. Here are the specs,please feel free to comment btw the price is around 1.4k-1.6k at most.

Cpu:AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Cooler:Cooler Master - Hyper T2 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Ram: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Mobo:Asus - PRIME B350-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard
Gpu: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB SC GAMING Video Card
Storage:Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Psu:EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case: Mastercase 5 atx mid tower

your case and mobo..dont match..you will be left with alot of space in the titan for a Matx board

PSU can lower your watt also..550 gold will be better

So many questionable parts. Your board dont support 3000mhz ram. only 2133/2400. Get 550w PSU more than enough for gtx1060. Throw in an ssd.

If u get an atx case for future upgrade then is fine. But whether will people stick with the case after 7-8 years is another question. Else just get a m-ATX case instead. Could have save a few more $.

R5-1500X gives you 4 cores but 8 threads. i5-7500 is only 4 cores 4 threads...

1500X speed turbos to 3.7 GHz while 7500 turbos to 3.8 GHz.. however, AMD cpus can be overclocked while intel ones can't.

I suggest upgrading to AMD R5-1600 for extra $38. extra 2 cores for $38 is a good trade. Easily OC to 3.8 Ghz too. More future proof.

So in the future, you will only need to upgrade your GPU to support newer titles instead of swaping the whole system.


Get an SSD in this day and age, do not go with an HDD as main drive. Get HDD in the future if you need more space.
