Everyone can be called up to serve for one but not both of the following sets of periods:
(i) for a period of 14 days and 8 hours per week during the first 6 months of service, and for a period of 7 days annually and 3 hours per week or 6 hours per fortnight or 12 hours per month after the first 6 months of service; or
(ii) for periods not exceeding in the aggregate 40 days annually.

Therefore doesn't look like something that they cannot do. So on what grounds are you going to ask for deferment?

1) Defer ICT still needs to do MUT. MUT can bring to next FY which mean you may still needs to serve 2 ICT (1 x ICT & 1 x MUT).

2) Unless your ICT is on course, then once you defer may not have MUT because it depend on your unit if they want to enrol you for the course again & if the school want to accept you again. So far I defer 2 times (2 x ICTs) for course & the school still accept me for the 3rd time.

Sounds like either admin cork up or seriously poor planning. What's the sense of having 2 ICTs just one week apart? Some how I'm more inclined to think its the first.

i understand we r liable to go for 40 days ict, but having a week + break in between is too much le:(

i read in another thread in EDMW, 2 HK ICT in a FY is counted as 1 HK nia:s22:

I got kena 2 HK ICT in 1 FY (but months apart) which mean it count as 1 HK ICT.

I suspect TS case is 1xMUT & 1xICT [or 1x ICT(Course) & 1xICT(Unit normal ICT)] which is the reason why 1 week apart.

i saw this before and it is because the person name appeared on 2 coy's namelist (S1 never update when transfer headcount)

usually this kind, u better call & clarify with unit what is happening. if found is mistake, they will remove 1 for you.

if you chin chai, then go both lor.

i think it is possible to defer based on the reason of simultaneous callup.

you can refer to MyDeferment on NS.SG.

however best way is to check with your unit's NS Branch on this.

i had encountered one scenario, whereby they called me on a friday to tell me Sunday got training. After some clarifications, turns out to be an error on the admin part.

Thus best is to check first and dont assume.
