2 Months only desktop killed 2 psu?

Hi, I built a new ryzen 2600 system 2 months back and last week it killed my seasonic core 550w , replacing to a older evga g+ works well. However, in just 3-4days after installing My old evga psu, my desktop suddenly shut down and now my evga PSU isn't receiving power too.

Both PSU failed the 24pin test(using the tester provided by seasonic). Pls note that my evga PSU managed to power on the fan when I tried the 24pin tester 4 days back

I'm at a lost of solution.
Any idea why?

Check your wall socket maybe. Are you using the provided power cable?

Seasonic Gold has a 10 year warranty, get a new one.

Yes I'm using the provided power cable for seasonic psu. I'm actually using a extension power socket which have 6 sockets? But I have been using it for the past 1 year or so, is 6 slot extension socket dangerous for desktop?

Just send the evga g+ for warranty. Maybe you suay bird 2 times.

Nope it is not dangerous but there might be an issue with the extension socket. Doesn’t mean it is working fine it won’t be spoil. Rma the psu and connect directly to the wall socket and monitor.

Your extension could be the issue. It may be due to grounding problem with the extension

The number of sockets shouldn't matter as long the total draw is <3.2kW off a single mains socket.

sometimes internal bad contacts will affect with cheap extension wires. yours expensive one of course no problem

I remember electrical experts some years back discuss in a thread on this forum how my "surge protectors" are no different from standard socket extensions.

try buying one with surge protector. Not expensive less than 30 can get

I used to have a cheap extension (6) sockets with surge protector and it burn my psu. Get a good one or plug in directly to wall socket. And the total power draw for extension sockets is only 10a 1000w regardless the number of sockets.

Granted there are some models rated for lower, isn't the max draw supposed to be the same as supposed to be the same as a single mains socket (13A, 3250W)?

Used my 2200W vacuum cleaner with on my extension with all the other devices running, no issues for over 6 years.

I used to force a vacuum cleaner with 15 amp plug into a 13 amp wall socket also can work, later I found out it's a mistake. And also it's ODD that my house's 3300w water heater can work with 10a fuse plug, I guess electrical items can't be trusted. Be safe than sorry.

What sort of vacuum you using at home that needs >13A??

The brand is Electrolux, it's power supply is a 15a thick 2 pins Europe plug.
