Planning to go italy for 2 weeks. First time there.
Here is my rough plan....

• Fly to Rome (4 -5 days)
• Assisi (1 day) - optional
• Florence ( 3 days)
• Venice ( 3 days)
• Milan to Singapore ( 3 days)

Just wondering is it too rush?? :(
My objective to see architecture, art museums, scenery...:s13:

Sounds OK to me. Did a 3 week solo trip there almost 10 years ago, and flew in and out of Milan.

Didn't visit Assisi, and felt Milan was boring. Not into fashion and shopping.

Agree. Milan was boring to me. I was not into high fashion. By the time you visit Milan, you would probably be done with Renaissance and Roman themes.

when I do my first Europe trip. I went to Spain. because heard is quite safe beside the pickpockets and scenic places are nice.

Food cost almost like Singapore.
except for hotel stay. Generally higher.

shopping wise. Not much. Except your usual mango, Zara , camper are much cheaper.

they have good arts museums. :s12:

Nice! I did Rome to Florence to Venice.. but Rome not as long probably 4 days.. must book the tourist attractions way in advance.. and they are very priceyc can use trainline app book the tickets for train..

i vividly rmb when I was going to Florence from Rome, at the train station, got a kind lady wearing the station attire quickly want help me print out train tickets.. I said don’t need cos train line got say don’t need print. But anyway I just let her cos I saw her wear work attire that seemed official. End up she want me give her 15 EUR. I said no and just just gave her a smaller amount. When boarding the train and thoughout the train ride, only my digital tickets were used to verify ..

another thing is don’t try to save on public transport tickets by not buying them.. there would be many inspectors trying to catch you, as though they are making a living out of..

Enjoy your trip!

Perhaps 5 days at Rome is better given that you are flying into Rome so first day likely wasted...
Of the cities provided, Rome surely has the most to see.
Florence is probably the most laid back of the lot. I enjoyed Florence the most during my trip (same cities you visited).. Venice imo is overrun with tourist.. much more obvious than Rome since the streets in Venice are narrow.. I stayed 1 night and left lol.. Milan nothing much to say since others have already chipped in.. I would personally find a short flight somewhere else and stay for a few days...

I am a museum person.. IMO Rome has the wow museums (Vatican Museum to be exact) and probably the grandest of the old structures, i.e. Colosseum.. Paris has the best art museums. The Louvre and Orsay are spectacular (I spend half a day for each location).. Berlin has probably the most balance choice of Art/historical museums, plus, its the most affordable..

Anyway for museums and indeed history, its really hard to beat Europe's main cities.. Scenery, not quite apart from maybe the alps..

Same as me! That y even if people may say overrated, always best to go there and see for yourself. next time, if there is ever a chance, i will stay in the hotel at Venice. I stayed at the mainland to save money.

I stay at Venice but near train station. :s13:

I dont think is necessary to stay deep inside. The pavement is narrow and uneven. pushing the luggage very mahuan. If take boat. Sometimes too crowded. 😅

using google maps sometimes bring me to dead end.

got one night I wanna rushed back to hotel. Woah lao. The streets r so dark and so quiet. Sometimes i fear for my safety. :s13:

Went to Murano & Burano. Both islands r nice. Specially morning walk. :s12:
