Intending to do sli 1-2 years down the road and oc the cpu.

Is the above build viable and within my budget?

Also, should i just get from mynextcomonline.com or at sls directly? i know nth about assembly..

1-2 yrs later SLI isnt a good choice...Best is like within 1 yr, coz new technology will come out and a single gpu may outperform your SLI for high end gpu

Your rig looks good for what you want. For the ODD, it will be at an angle on your 540 air. So take note of that. If only used for installing wins8, then i suggest to remove it. use an USB 2.0 thumbdrive to install OS. Since you are gonna SLI, 850w is more than enough.

Try inputting the parts in MNC and see final costs. They can assemble n deliver for u.

I have been to tradepac every week. From there keep asking 1 by 1. So Yeap I have my own master copy to see.

Can de. Take it as a rough guide. See how much they actually charging you and how much more of a discount you can get.

Usually buy a full rig below 1k the discount isn't really enticing. I noticed I have helped a few people getting their rigs at $1.5k to 1.7k or even 2k. The discounts are great. $100-$150.

a penny saved is a penny earned. half of 100 is $50,also very substantial savings leh. will try.

Or shd i save some money and stick to a simpler rig:

The thing is. Whats the point? Sli after a year later.

Wanna sli is either do it now or in 3-4months time. By the time you wanna wait for new card to launch and hoping that the gtx780 would drop further, you are going to be disappointed as the price usually still not enticing.

And please reconsider your thoughts. With that budget you ciuld have settled for an amd xfire gpu.
