Why is it so many here claim to able to get a great deal, but don't usually reveal where and how? I don't get it. Isn't more sales better? It's constantly happening in this and the previous OLED thread.

Ask them flash receipt, but crop out location of purchase la..

If not, I declare that I mass bought 4 pieces 65C7, one for each room, including my kitchen for only $1000 nia!

Of cos more sales is better... but already mentioned before... there are cheespie dealers lurking everywhere and i believe some of them are in this thread and they started to blame others for "spoiling" the market by selling so low. These are the same mutherfarkers who holding to the stock and price and think their OLED tv are the better QC one..:s13:.. You know who u are.. always ask about the price since donkey years ago but never buy one..;)

But nevertheless .. 65inch at 4.7 i know is do-able... if u show the salesman u are really keen to buy most likely u are able to get.. plus bargain here bargain there might able to get some free gifts too..... just remember not all ppl in the market will pay so much for an OLED tv compare to the cheaper LCD tv nowadays? ;)

55inch C7T now 2.6k and 65inch 4.7k is reasonable now.. cause Panasonic has lower their prices
... so do bargain ard and compare panasonic and LG.....Happy buying yr OLED tv..

That's fair I guess. Makes sense for resellers, but I don't see how it's obvious for consumers to got such a great deal to know not to share due to what you mentioned. Just seems like it's been happening more often than not.

Really have la. I have no reason to lie.

Like NakedToes said, it's to protect who you bought it from.

If you don't already know how electronics industry works for large ticket items, here's how:

The manufacturer, Samsung/LG/Panasonic/Sony/etc has a new model of TV/fridge/washer to sell.

It makes it for $1000 and sells the appliance for, say a 100% markup to the re-seller (HN/Best/Gain/Mega) for $2000. Manufacturer instructs the re-seller that in order to preserve profit margins, the re-sellers is NOT ALLOWED to sell it below a reserve price of $3000 under any circumstances.

The re-seller then lists it for $4000 on catalogues, websites, stickers and waits for a customer to come.

Customer comes to express interest and the re-seller says, OK, I can sell to you for $3200 as special price. You bargain get it down to $2900 but the re-seller tells you that he give that price on the condition that you do not tell anyone - especially the competing re-sellers. Otherwise the manufacturers will come for his head.

So when some of us say that you can get for 4.7k if you bargain, we mean that the competition is fierce enough that they will let go at that price if you can seal the deal quick.

Got it for 2899 megadiscount without additinal tv but free gifts like wallmount n wire included.

I believe wall mount by default is given by LG themselves. not by the retailer. so even if trade in wall mount they also cannot discount.

Why do current sets for 65" sell for $4k whereas 75" sell for $14k? What's going on there.

65" don't sell for $4k, there isn't 75" OLED, and lastly it's premium pricing strategy, quite common in all types of products.

I find this logic of wanting to keep the source of the shop really silly. Which seller doesn't want to sell more units even if they make less margin per unit?

At end of the day if say they can sell 1000units at margin of say $200 vs another shop that sells 500 units at $300 margin. Who is better from the tv brands perspective? If the shop is willing to cut their own margin to secure more sales, they will always always be the preferred business channel.

And the reason of selling below the MSRP, pls. Tv brands know they cannot control their retailers. At end of the day, the only way they can control their retailers is the cost price which is sold to the different retailers. Different retailers will buy at diff prices and it is based on the historical performance and guaranteed commitment from the retailer of how many units would be sold through his channels. Tv brands can come up with a MSRP. But it is up to the different retailers to ultimately set their own prices. Retailers will always try to sell max price at any point of time where they can. More aggressive retailers will discount more to grab more market share as prices of Tv's and electronics will always drop, so it is a balance of discounting to grab vol vs preserving margin with the risk of not selling enough units.

And finally have you gone into any good n competitive retailer and they tell u they dun carry as particular brand or model this year because the tv brand has penalized them for selling too cheap? Has it happened? Does it even sound logical at all?

Some higher priced retailers will definitely be jealous. Especially those retailers who sell with price guarantees within a certain period of time. Such market competition will work against them n they may complain or make noise but pricing competitively is all in the spirit of free market competition. Any action to seriously go against this is actually wrong.

So finally don't spout such nonsense. Don't say you bought at what price but cannot share. Coz it is illogical. As a seller I will want to let more people know if i can sell cheaper to grab more vol. Because if I dun sell at say 2700 now for the 55c7t, I might have to sell at 2600 instead by next month if another retailer becomes more aggressive than me.

If don't want to share. Just shut up and enjoy your tv at home. No one force you to share. This is a forum to share info for benefit of all. Don't do this kind of half sharing. This also prevents fake sharing by pple who say I got 2600 for this 55c7t model already!

Hope this logically clarifies

Actually from a dealer's perspective, selling more at a lower margin is a worse deal.
I have to serve more customers suffer more irritating bargain hunters etc.
You find that Loewe uses OEM LG and Samsung panels, but they don't sell in volumes. And they are happier.
From a consumer's viewpoint, it's cheap cheap is best of course.. until you need to ask question and then the complaints of poor service come in.
YMMV
