LG OLED TV SG vs Int price

Hi,
I believe LG has a U.P.P price of 3,000 USD for 55 inch C8 LG OLED.
Why is SG still selling at > 5 or 6 k for 55 inch C8 , while the rest of the world is getting at about 4k SGD?

You are referring to set sell in USA?
Anyway UPP usually did not include local sales tax.

Assuming USA set has exactly same specification as Singapore example with DVBt2 tunner. For USA person to purchase, US$3000 plus sales tax which is around 8.5 to 9.5% depending on which state. This is around US$3255 (at 8.5% sales tax). Which is S$4360.
You can work this out even without the sales tax in USA. You have to add shipping, GST when your set arrive Singapore minus the 3 years warranty (USA don't give 3 years warranty even it is within USA).
Don't think you find much different anyway.
Do take note exchange rate is quite different from the pass.

1. "US$3255 (at 8.5% sales tax). Which is S$4360." - this is still much lower than SG price of 6k right?
2. even amazon sells cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electroni...pID=5134TC-M5WL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
3. But for some reason Amazon does not ship to SG.
4. LG warehouse should not be in US, given that LG is Korea and probably manufactured in China, it should be cheaper to ship to SG.

The 55c8 only goes for about 4k in the major retailers go and look

In any case, you still have to add shipping, warranty and consider model feature eg DVBT2 etc. Also, do not assume LG has only 1 warehouse in the world.

You may also need to confirm 6K is selling price or list price. Now a day even in the major store. It is norm to get a TV much lower then the price listed on the price tag.

There is not such fix price store in Singapore anymore. You need to bargin hard if you really want to buy it.

I'm eyeing the LG 55C7T or LG 55SJ850T. Do you guys think I should get it now while its in stock or wait until CEE. I've been to Best and HN and the best seems to be 2500 for C7 and 1800 for 850.

I say go for C7 OLED TV. I have the SJ850T and although the image is good enough (no complaints), when you use the remote and the pink cursor moves around, you can see a band of light follow the cursor from bottom to top very obviously with dark backgrounds. I think with OLED, it would not be like this. Regarding the image retention fears, I think at most, after 3 years you can just buy new TV which is normal. Who knows what new technology will be popular then. In the meantime you can enjoy the best image quality and no light band following the cursor.

LG claims it can last 60,000 hours lifespan maybe what it meant is till the last pixel burnt out at 60,000 hours? :(

Lifespan and burn mark is 2 different thing. When you get a burn mark. It does not means TV is end of lifespan.

I wouldn't buy such an old display set, 6 months multiply by 12hrs a day equals to a lot of hours to save $1k.
