Could also be your Always On Display...

Your Google Play Services also seems to be draining quite a bit of battery. Not sure why though.. can try to go along this line of enquiry.

Have anyone of you notice this issue?

When you look at your photos in pixel 3/3xl, there's always this white lining somewhere at the top part. When you zoom in out of the photos, it's quite obvious.

When i went for the 1-1exchange, I brought up this issue which the CS guy said he will check with Google coz he was not aware of this issue.

I tried it with few other pixel 3 and 3xl, all have this same white line thingy. I am just surprise that I am the only one who noticed it so far.

Anyone also noticed it but just cannot be bothered with it?
For me, it's quite annoying at times.

Likely It is cause by the fade effect. You can even see it happen at the bottom too. The fade is not as gradual as it looks.

This is by design for Google photos, so it should appear on all phones. Rationale is the soft button is white, if you background is white, you can't see the buttons.

Tap the photo once more to enter full screen, and it will be gone (because soft button is hidden)

Yalor haha just look at the screen time (if you really need) at the end of the day or when the battery goes low enough...

Just tried as you mentioned. Interestingly, the line disappeared after i tapped 1 more time on the photos. But i still dont get the rational behind this.

But glad that at least it can disappear with a tap. Thanks!

The rationale is white button on white background = see nothing.

So the white button is on top of a translucent grey background to avoid such issue. This also happens at the bottom.
