Initially I wanted the small Pixel 3 but due to poor hardware, I decided to go for the XL.

I used small Pixel 2 before so I know that it's a great phone also and I really prefer the small size.

So my question is...

I'm using S9+ before jumping, didn't like the OneUI. So want to go back to Pixel. But the Pixel 3 have lots of hardware issues (per forums), so opted to XL. No problem on the phone except the size (my hands are not big).

Then here's my friend offering the trade. So got me thinking if the added amount is worth it. If long term I will regret the decision. Lol

Coz the only diff I see (for now) is the wide selfie and the bezels. Software side mostly the same, or am I missing something.

Just check the trade in price for both phones. If minus both prices, I think they are around $500.

But remember, trade in and 2nd hand buy prices are not the same. The latter is higher.

So I would say $500 is too low. IMO $550 is reasonable.

Actually only issue with bigger phone is when people can't teach corners and all of the screen with one hand use right? With that app can reach all screen sizes reliably, even drag and swipe also no problem
