Its DCC, anyway if u used to use UBER you would realised its few cents++ more charged to your card due to DCC as well..

put in plain words, it basically means when the merchant's payment gateway is oversea, even if you are charged with SGD, the bank, more specifically, VISA/Master will charge for an extra fee called dynamic concurrency conversion on top of the SGD amt you see. You would not see the extra charge in the otp, only when you get the cc statement then you would find out.

see OCBC's reply

Singapore dollar transactions processed outside Singapore
All card transactions processed outside Singapore but charged in Singapore dollar (i.e. without any currency conversion) will be subject to an administrative fee of 2.8% on the total amount of the transaction, which includes a 1% fee by Visa or by MasterCard, which shall be payable by you and debited from your Card account. This includes but is not limited to any card transaction in Singapore dollars on overseas-based websites and mobile applications.

They mean this? So Google SG charged in SGD but the transaction was processed outside of Singapore. Since you mentioned as well order was fulfilled by Expansys HK right?

But wtff. Did they indicate this during payment? This feels like something that should have been indicated. And if there is such a charge, this is something that they should absorb, not pass onto consumers. The price in Singapore is already higher than in US by quite a bit.

u may try to dispute with the bank, sometimes they can waive it out of goodwill only.. you can refer to the URL i posted above, an entire long thread of discussion about DCC..

Just contacted Google support on the shipment delay. Those of you with delayed orders can try the same.

Not sure how useful they'll be. I'll have to wait for their email to find out.

Hey all, been monitoring the thread.

just wanna say that my order (Pixel 3XL, Just Black, 128GB) that was placed on the 10th at the Google Store is finally shipping out.

Google staff themselves are not aware of their processes, the staff told me that Fedex was handling this but I was surprised to see the tracking details from DHL.

Hope those who are waiting in pain like me get an answer today.

It was suppose to be scheduled for today and tomorrow, then over the weekend it reflected as delayed. 30mins ago the notification changed.

Spent countless hours talking to Google to rectify this.

This is on your Pixel 3?

Maybe you have some apps or services not updated:s11: Or wait other Pixel 3/XL users to feedback whether theirs is like this.. This is the older UI design iirc.

Anyway since you have the old design, could you help me test something out? For each of the cards, what happens when you click the 3 dots? Do you still have the option to "share"?

Was yours initially indicated as "delayed"?

I originally pre-ordered on 10Oct the exact same model, but cancelled it. I then re-pre-ordered again on 26Oct when I saw that the delivery date changed to "Dispatch by 1Nov". But I kena smoked. Now 5Nov liao still haven't dispatch.

I think we need to talk to them to get things going. It sucks, but its a lesson learnt.

Anyway I read on reddit that Google Taiwan orders are shipping from Singapore. Its seems like they're running a circus delivering this orders.

That's the exact same model I ordered and same original delivery date. My order also got "delayed" during the weekend.

I initiated a chat with Google earlier through my Pixel 2 XL. They said they will reach out to their shipping team and reply me in 24-48 hours time.... Zzz.

Wew, you should have just cancelled and purchased it from SingTel or Starhub. The delayed only appeared over the weekend when I questioned the Google Staff on how sure that the delivery could be made by Monday (Today) when there is no shipment notification issued.

Hold them liable, I know its just a phone. But I told them this is not how you earn your consumer trust.
