Ipad OS can now transfer files from an usb-stick. So storage space of Ipads as less of an issue than before. Especially if you are considering it for storage of videos

err... i have yet to try storing netflix on usb storage so i cant comment on that.

i did buy a usb c thumb drive for my ipad pro to load videos using VLC though.

if you get the normal ipad or ipad air, make sure you get the lightning thumb drive.

shld i get the ipad 2019 128gb or ipad air 64gb? if it is just for casual surfing, emails and netflix, can a10 chip in ipad 2019 handle the tasks?
not using for office work or gaming

From your usage, the 2019 iPad is good enough for you unless you are very anal about watching Netflix on a better screen. If that’s the case, for the the Air or Mini since they come with laminated display.

Well iPad Air here A12

I have a spare 2017 ipad, it can handle surfing/email/netflix just fine.

ipad air isnt worth the money imo. neither here nor there, unless you want the A12 chip but even then, the difference is minimal.

save the money.

Not out till next year. Apple still has time to innovate and fight back.
Surface still haven’t sought out their software and apps yet.
Tech looks impressive and promising but real world usage and performance is still untested. Neo and duo only launching end 2020.

Right now iPad is king for touch screen apps.

But the most important app i need to use is CAD and Autodesk cant get their **** together to actually develop and fix their crap.

Most of the other apps I use, morpholio trace, concepts, goodnotes, onedrive are all superb on the ipad pro. Site meetings are pretty productive thanks to these.

So if the reviews show that the surface pro X is good for the above AND able to run a full desktop autocad, i'm sold. or the surface pro 7, either way, need to wait for reviews or show units in stores.

Though i admit, win10 is horrendous for touch. it just doesnt work as fluently as ipados.

i dont need a laptop, for site walks and meetings, a tablet is the best tool around imo. easy to write on, show contractors some pdfs, or just open a drawing for reference.

Gotta wait til Nov 5....

The Duo and Neo seems like its neither here nor there. multi screen on such a small device? eh... i'll pass on that. I was more hyped for the Surface Pro X more than anything else. When I saw the presenter writing in to the excel cell and it recognized the handwriting and auto filled the cell, wow.

Office apps + CAD + hopefully good touch support and apps like Concepts/Good Notes is just a godsend for me.

Note that Windows on ARM does not support x86-64. All 64-bit app must be compiled for ARM.

Just ordered the refurbished ipad pro 11 256gb wifi set which i feel it's the best deal at only $1209. Top up $159 for applecare you get two years of warranty. And if you intend to get apple pencil make sure you add to the same cart so that it will also be covered with applecare.

Very good deal. I think quite likely the new iPad Pro will come Oct 29. Else will be Mar 2020 already
