2018 iPad Pro

The chances of having a bent ipad right of the box is very very rare. Just because you hear about online means every iPad Pro is like that. Sometimes a single report of a bent iPad Pro greatly exaggerates the incidences of a bent iPad Pro.

This. This was what I'm trying to drive at. This is just like the note 7 fiasco where reports are flying everywhere online. To me, if you are lucky enough to get a note 7 that exploded you probably are as unlucky to get hit on the road. I honestly doubt any of us here have gotten a bent iPad pro outta the box.

I mean no one expects perfection from each manufacturing batch but Apple is saying:

I think that sounds like horsesh*t to me. cmon treating e customers as fools? just say it can be a rare manufacturing occurrence n they will replace it. no need to give bs.

i dun really use it to do word processing or editing stuffs

just need a replacement for my surface pro which died 2 days ago...

usually i will do my work on my desktop. then save the files in my google drive

can the latest ipad pro 2018,

1) access my google drive and download the .psd / .ai files and open it to view only ?

cos i need to use it to show my clients my work.

2) is there any word processing app which can save as .docx ?

1.) Yes. You can do that via the Google Drive app.

2. Pages by Apple can do that and give you the option to save it locally, Share it via apps like mail or anything.. or just save to your Google Drive via the Google Drive app.

Google Word can do that but it saves docx to your Google Drive.

Nope. Been using the iPad with the smart folio case only

That's great! Cos I find the latest iPad pro is faster than any laptop in the market now. Some more so freaking light.

Only set backs are the accessories are so expensive.

Anyway I will be getting one next week.

I really think unless you bend it like those idiots on YouTube it shouldn't bend that easily especially when the set on hand doesn't have any issues.

My 10.5” Pro does not suffer from this bending issue. Though 0.2mm thicker, this difference in thickness will be sufficient to prevent it from this kind of bending? Else not sure if it’s just the manufacturing process contributing to this issue.

Thickness of the material aside, I believe the rigidity is dependant on the way they design the structure. This is not the first time this bendgate happened, ie, starting with iPhone 6 Plus. Apple later revised the design internally to strengthen the structure. This is also a result of Apple's obsession with making their products ever thinner.

The "idiots" that you mentioned pointed out a serious flaw. While we won't purposely bend it since it cost so much, you may rest on it if it's in your bag. The last thing you want is to bend it. And the critical point mentioned is that it bends very easily, which I don't hear often.

Am just worried if I need it to be placed inside my bag-pack, travelling with it in a long period of time and it got bent naturally... Of course not going to do it on purpose etc..

Those iPads with Touch ID or home button, won’t bend. Only the newer design will bend.
