Happy new year folks, looking to do a mini refresh to my existing rig >>>

Change CPU to i7-7700
Change GPU to (waiting for the refreshed vega that’s expected in Q1, i’m an AMD fan heh)
Bump Ram to 16GB
Change Casing (still hoping the Taku will arrive here, otherwise might get the node202 instead)

Couple of queries:
1) Can I leave my OS as it is or need to reinstall windows from scratch?

2) Where can I find someone reliable to help transfer / upgrade the components to the new casing ? (I’ve got butter fingers)

3) How much u reckon my i5-6500 and R9 Nano still can roughly fetch ?

Thank u ! :)

1) With new hardware, it is always advisable to reinstall windows but you can get away without it.

2) Carousell/Sim Lim Square shops? will cost you though.

3) No idea. i5-6500 + Mobo will be a better sell. R9 Nano is really not sought after, even by miners.

You can go Ryzen ITX if you're a fan of AMD.

R7-1700 + ASRock X370 ITX!

For Vega, there's currently only stock blower style cooler in SLS. If you're lucky, you maybe able to purchase an aftermarket card from vendors online... If Miners hasn't gotten to all the stocks already.

I doubt there will be refresh Vega so soon but who knows? wait for CES 2018 next week for any possible news..

Nvidia also sought after. Gtx 1060 and gtx 1070 is very popular for mining too. Amd gpu bios can be tweaked better for mining as compared to nvidia. But each kind of gpu got its strength for different kind of cryptocurrency
