Poly sponsorship
Hi guys i really need help regarding this poly sponsorship thing as it seems pretty confusing.
im turning 17 ( just finished Os and got posted to international trade and business at NP ) and im thinking about going for the poly sponsorship program but im preddy confused about the bonds etc...
Q1. SAF POLYTECHNIC SPONSORSHIP (MDES)
The SAF Polytechnic Sponsorship (MDES) offers you full sponsorship of your studies at a recognised polytechnic. This scheme provides you with financial independence during your studies and guarantees a stable, rewarding and challenging career as a Military Expert upon completion of your studies.
Bond: Fulfil a 4–year bond after your studies*
^ those are what is on the website.
So do i serve for 4 years in total inclusive of the 2 years mandatory NS ?
Also, do i need to go for earlier BMT and when will it be? I heard that it will be on april but the thing is my school term starts on april 19 so i will miss lessons if i need to attend the BMT. Please clarify on this i may have some misunderstanding on this matter.
Q2. After i finish poly and go to army, do i sign on straight away to fufill my 4 years bond? And what will i be posted to given my poly course as i cant seem to find an army post related to my course ( International Trade and Business).
Q3. Is there any gratuity? If so, how much? i heard from my uncle there is some sort of gratuity after i finish my bond.
Q4.
Value of Award:

Monthly allowance of up to $1,150
Study bonus of $1,200 for each successfully completed semester without any failed module
Eligibility Criteria:
Be an existing polytechnic student or have secured a place there
GPA 2.5 and above
Have not repeated any semester
Singapore citizen or permanent resident intending to take up citizenship
Possess a strong interest in a military career
^ those are what i found on the site. So does my very first year in poly get sponsored by the army? Because i have already paid my school fees for this semester so will they reimburse the sum?
Q4. By going this route, i basically negated my chances of being in OCS as i have to become ME instead right?
Sorry for this long post but really hope some of yall can take some time to read and help me!
