I'll be touring Fuji Kawaguchiko in November. The 2025 autumn leaves forecast period here, according to the map above, is between 15 Nov to 30 Nov.

Wonder how bad it is if I arrive 1-2 week earlier than the above dates

Sometimes it also depends on the weather. I was in Kansai for a month back in 2023 but it poured almost everyday. Affected the foliage.

Many photos were not great due to gloomy and dark clouds. Plus it wasn’t good hiking up to various temples and shrines in the rain. 😬

Second week to end November for Shiga and Kyoto. That year there were five weeks for the month of November.

Or maybe I was 雨女. Always attracting rain when I visited Japan. 😅 Not exactly everyday but almost.

That seems to be the ideal period based on area and forecast but well unless we live there and last min rush to the blossom with news saying so as and whenever good weather, it is hard or impossible to see if it rains

just that I had two weeks to plan for two major excursions and I’m arriving before the forecasted date, leaving the later week nearer the forecast have higher chance but by how much better I dunno

still haven’t have a chance to catch yellow leaves, red leaves, rapeseed, hydrangeas, cosmos and sunflowers there. Still very bad in getting accurate info and planning my holidays which often didn’t go as good as I hope

Same location
28 nov 2024

The forecast was like 25 nov 2024 or something and this is the location that is easy to get to in tokyo city area and alot of autumn leaves.
My plan was to visit it early incase it boom early and can come back again around 26~30+ nov 2024 to visit it during the forecast date or later. Trip planning first 2 days in tokyo, then go nagano, toyama, kyoto and osaka area and then back to tokyo for a few more days and plane back.
It is to make sure i can catch this location at its best or close to it best color

Where you be going and which area/place autumn foliage u trying to catch ?
I think even official forecast and information can be inaccurate or slow to update.
I suggest you look at other previous review of the area that show photos of the autumn foliage to pick the place you want to catch it and also google map review. I went to some area but was kinda disappointed with the amount of autumn foliage i able to see.

For my trip i was planning the timing base of 3 things, the tokyo autumn foliage, my 7 days JR Hokuriku Arch Pass and my zipair flat bed plane seats.

Mid Nov, need go north or go higher to ensure good autumn color.
