Well, 64GB definitely isn't going to work in 2026, even those on 128/256GB will probably face issues with storage.

And rule of thumb is that, if you can get a good price for older gen then grab them! Otherwise, if the latest gen is just a little higher, get the latest then.
At least this is my logic.
Thanks this is useful! There is a Mini7 256gb Wifi refurbished in apple store for $849, is that a good price?

To get this in nano texture display, Wi-Fi only with 256GB cost 1.3k for a mini. Ouch…

Why would you want this Nano **** on an OLED… 🥲

Btw the Nano on the iPhone Duo is not really the true Nano… like pasting a Matte screen on it… true nano-texture finish is physically etched into the glass rather than applied as a film .. like the ones on iPad Pro/Macbooks… 🥹

I demo the Inner Screen on the iPhone Duo… its like watching through the Haze on the screen… hopefully Duo 2 will improve on that…

My iPad in the past was all standard glass and disliked having to frequently wipe off fingerprint smudges which is why I'm keen on matte texture display like those on Android tablets.

Never use nano texture on Oled screen. Is different from previous laminated lcd tech.

anyway I ordered 256GB cellular iPad mini 8, with blue case to complement midnight colour.

Ya see the duo screen I sian already. Using 17 pro so no need to upgrade to Duo or 18 pro, so got the iPad mini cellular instead. Next time can bring out this mini plus either my m4 11 or 13 iPad cellular models. Good to have extra screen

I am using a 64 GB mini 6th generation device that supports iOS 27, but performance has declined significantly. Multitasking and split-screen functions are no longer practical because the system feels sluggish or delayed.

ipad mini 7th 128gb cellular is just $150 cheaper than the A20. still Many stock available for pick up next Friday

For sure with the increase in resource requirement for modern tasks and IOS. Its definitely a pain to utilise 64GB in 2026.

I would personally suggest minimally 256GB if you were to pick up the iPad Mini 7 instead. There's a reason why the baseline now is 256GB for storage.
No point to save now and face the same issue again just down the road in my opinion.

I’m using iCloud family for additional storage

given gen 6th is 2021, gen 7th is 2024, and gen 8th is 2026, and gen 7 and gen 8 is only $150 more , I will just get this mini iPad 8, and enjoy the oled
