saw the highlights, the difference in skill is huge. but china still got chance lah. japan is the strongest in their group so this should be within expectations.

No loh, the normal expectation for this current china team is to lose 3-0 or 4-1 to the current japanese team.

Losing 7-0 implies that the Chinese team standard might have regressed to the typical standard of south east Asian team.

North Korea have no internet, no social media, no outside world news, not even sure they broadcast football matches on their TV. How many football fields they have? Do they have retail shops selling soccer boots? Don't even think about online shopping. So how come they can compete in such high levels?!? Then you see Singapore kids all grew up watching EPL weekly, EURO, WC, so many stadiums, every school got a football field, easily buy soccer boots and jersey. So many famous football academys for kids (but actually is to earn money from parents). But so lousy at football.
North Korea players to me is have fitness level and reasonable good football fundamental skills. Probably that is why they can compete with the like of Arab teams.

But again, due to international isolation, the north Korean players is like not exposed to most of modern football tactics or sport science. So perhaps that is why they look pretty awful when they up against world cup caliber national team.

Just compare how many of the players playing in Euro big 5 leagues and teams already lose by a long mile.

Yet we lose to them, means we are not even at sea standards
