In Chinese performances (especially opera and theatre),

形式表演 is more important than the reality presented to audience.

Just like in Chinese opera, someone riding a horse holds a decorative whip that represents the whole horse rather than a full cardboard horse.

The symbolism is more important.

Just watched this show yesterday. Plot is so-so, just the fight scenes are good.
Anyway, got a question on Jet Li. In the ending credits, all the actors’ names are displayed and for those who are not China’s nationals, their countries will be displayed in brackets beside their names as is customary for China films. For Jet Li, he was listed as Hong Kong, China. A quick Google search will reveal that Jet Li has given up Chinese citizenship and becomes a Sinki since 2009 and remains so. There are no reports of him changing citizenship or having become a HK PR. So is this a genuine mistake or deliberate?

Thanks for the comments in this thread. Finally watch the film after being in Batam for almost 2 weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed the film and only paid $5+ for 2 tickets.. Initially thought my wife won't enjoy it, but surprisingly, she did...
