Hi, I'm currently looking to build a rig for a friend that only plays Dota2 and watches videos/movies on the PC. So I guess a 2400G will be sufficient for his usage at 1080P? Cheapest possible configuration would be great.

CPU : 2400G
Board :??? 350 or 450 series M board?
Ram : Dual Channel budget 8Gb ram highest speed possible (2666hz is highest for 4gb sticks?)
SSD: Preferably a 240Gb SSD (WD green or tecware?)
PSU: Any should be fine to power this rig
Case:To be confirmed, likely nexus M.

Thanks in advance for recommendations!

B series boards support speeds higher than 2666 and still loves speeds >3000mhz as seen here for APUs

Downgrade to 2200G, performance difference not very big. Can still play Dota2 at high settings, 60fps steadily on 1080p

B350 or 450 don't matter. But would suggest Asrock AB350M Pro4, got heatsink for both Vcore VRM and SOC VRM, which are important for boosting performance through some degree of overclocking. Can up the core frequency to 3.7 or 3.8ghz on 1.35V or lesser for all 4 cores, allocate 1 or 2GB of RAM to the APU.

Cheapest 2666mhz is value ram. Those won't work well. Try get a RAM kit maybe? Crucial Ballistix Tracer not bad. $133 from lazada. While it is 2666mhz, you can pump more voltage (1.35V) and tighten the timings and/or up the frequency to about 2933mhz (if feasible) using Ryzen DRAM Calculator.

Out of that 2 ssd, I will take WD Green.

Just get 2200G.
Don't waste $$$ on SSD, only load faster but you still need to wait for the slowest guy to complete loading for online gaming, won't help gaming performance.
