Planning to get XS MAX .. but couldn't decide 256 or 512?

512 looks a bit big but the videos and pictures wont be small. Price wise 512 is 15% ($310) more but with double the storage

Should I go for 256 or 512?

i have like 2k photos, 140 videos..plus other stuff ..use only 60gb phone storage

if u have tons of photos and videos... but not enuff iCloud space...whats the point.

64Gb more than enough for me, i use like 30+ gb only mainly photos. I bought the 256gb iphone 8 but sold it and downgrade to 64gb. I also have 1tb dropbox sync with my phone.

How true is it now for the different capacities of iPhone Xs varients, I think the A12 Bionic chip would make the whole phone snappy irregardless of gb size.

I don't sync photos to icloud at all because I didn't subscribe. I backup my photos to portable hard disks once a while whenever my phone is full but find it a little bit troublesome

More storage means faster read speed. My only concern that Apple will put mode ram on the 512 models.

Note9 512 model is faster than the 128. Proven and tested.

I shall hold my iPhone purchases first. Wait until people reveal the speed test for 256 and 512. If there is a difference, I will definitely going for 512.

I have a high expectations on how iPhones will perform.

Speed is a thing for me too. Couldn't stand lag. I reckon 512 can last me at least 4 yrs of photo/video takings, not sure if I'd use it for so long though

if u your mac's, the additional cloud storage is a god send.

i can access my files across my mac and macbook as well as my ipad

Yes can choose to auto sync/upload when on wifi network or if you rich then mobile data network.

i'll just go for whichever storage suits me. i doubt anyone will really notice the slight speed difference. pay extra just for 2-3 sec difference and dont even fill half the storage space?

While I am bursting 200GB with photos and videos, think I can make do w 256. Housekeep and store in NAS.

Ok now, let’s see. In 2007 the first iPhone 2G was created. Only as an export set. I had that one. It was 8GB. Fast forward in 2017, 10th yr anniversary phone iPhone X largest capacity is 256gb. 256/8=32.

In 2008 iPhone 3G came with 16gb and 32gb. iPhone 3G 32gb was not available without a contract. So take iPhone 4 32gb as an example, costing S$1048.(https://www.google.com.sg/amp/s/lesterchan.net/blog/2017/09/14/singapore-iphone-prices-over-the-years/amp/).
10 years later here in 2018, we have iPhone Xs at 512gb at S$2349. 512/32=16. Cost 2.2 times more than iPhone 4 32gb.

So 10 years from now in year 2028, take current iPhone max capacity of 512gb * 16 = 8TB . Akin to carrying an external HDD putting in our pocket? What would the price be like? S$2349 * 2.2 = S$5167 for the max capacity 8TB iPhone in year 2028?!

Never ending chasing for new gadgets yearly. That’s why telcos and private handphone shops businesses in SG are flourishing. In SG everyone is hp craze. Take a look inside MRT. Whole row of commuters seated opposite of me are all staring at their handphones.

Higher NAND capacity will come with faster read speed and also higher cache. There is always a speed difference between 128GB and 256GB like all iPhone models.

I'm also using Mega.nz which offers 50gb free. Its app can upload photos too.
