Hi All,

I plan to go for a 2D1N Mt Fuji Trip with tour as I am not sure how to go around for F&E.

Anyone taken up 2D1N Mt Fuji trip for any agency before? Care to share your experience too?

In addition, for those whom went for the F&E trip, care to share your experience too?

So from here I can gauge if I should go on a tour or F&E.

TIA! :s13:

A MtFuji trip means a trip to Mt Fuji the mountain itself or a trip to the surrounding area at the foot of Mt Fuji? This is a common misnomer. Tourists usually at least go up till 5th stn of Mt Fuji when they are around that area. But 5th stn may not open all year round due to snow condition during late Autumn and Winter time.

there are buses available for the area, eg:
http://bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/heritage-tour/detail/id/3/

For 5th Stn case, you can take this and go up directly from Tokyo:
http://bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/highway/

Your itinerary can either be:

TOKYO->5TH STN->KAWAGUCHI-KO->TOKYO

or TOKYO->KAWAGUCHIKO->5TH STN->TOKYO

This is assuming you are not hiking up Mt Fuji's summit.

Hi thank you for your prompt reply!

So sorry did not state properly. My intention is just to tour around the surroundings. I will be heading next year May. Will it still be cold?

Any recommendations whether if I should do a one day trip or is it worth to do a two day one night trip? This is my first time visiting Mt Fuji and hope to have a relax trip.

Will it also be convenient if we do a F&E trip or should I take up land tour? However land tour don't seems to be that cheap.. So unsure which should I go for!

TIA! :)

fairly simple to do a F&E, express bus terminal is at Shinjuku, or u can take a train. book a ryokan and spend a relaxing time while u can view Mt Fuji while doing an onsen.

I am flying this week. Initially was contemplating on taking the 1 day tour with Japanican but upon reading the review, realise that most of the time spending time on the bus, very rush. Now trying to see if can go f&e as well. Not really worth to spend 200+ per pax..

Frankly, you can see it as a taxi/mini bus ride with someone that is knowledgeable about the places that you are visiting. If you prefer the convenience and the extra infor that a guide can provide, do the tour. Otherwise, FnE is the way to go.

$200 is ridiculous. I only paid $70 (5000ÂĄ) and that came with a free lunch.

I will be taking the bus from Shinjuku.

Just wondering, if we start off our day from Shinjuku between 9.15AM - 10.45AM or even earlier, is it doable or possible to cover the following places in a day? I will be staying overnight at Mt.Fuji however not sure which hotel/airbnb to stay yet.

Mt Fuji 5th Station
Lake Kawaguchiko
Hakone

Appreciate if you can share your itinerary with us! :s12:

5th stn is normally closed in winter or late autumn, if there are too much snow. But if you take buses from Kawaguchi ko, their buses will bring u up till the last stn where its still passable. But I saw that most not much meaning if u say stop at 4th stn where the views are not great.

Hi I will be visiting Japan during mid May. So i supposed the 5th Station is open? :D

So based on 3 places I would like to visit, it is still doable with just one day overnight?

Thanks!

Doable but very rush. all touch and go and u have to be very selective in what you want to see or do.

Sharing my 3D2N Kawaguchiko + Hakone experience using the Fuji Hakone Pass - http://www.flyhoneystars.com/2016/07/09/fuji-hakone-odakyu-pass-booking-itinerary-and-experience/

I guess you can just look at the Kawaguchiko portion. If you're visiting early May, there will be this pink flowers festival. I visited towards the 3rd week of May and we didn't get to see much.

For accommodation - I highly recommend this super value for money ryokan (Komaya Ryokan) (with Mt Fuji view) but the downside is that it is pretty old and no private toilets and shower facilities.
