2FA issue

Hi Moderator,

Two days ago I accidentally clicked on the enable 2FA link, realized I clicked on the wrong link, I quickly clicked my browser back button, unfortunately since then am now locked out of my main account Shinji_U on both desktop and GAGT Android app. Tried reset password and it doesn't seem to work as well.

I've emailed membership @ hardwarezone.com.sg but there's no response till date. I had to create this account to ask for assistance.

Is any moderator able to help me with this?

hey there,

you are supposed to download the google authenticator to get the numbers to key in.

I'm not sure about GAGT but on desktop do give it a try.

If you still have problems, update here again.

But for this case I accidentally clicked the 2FA link, and upon realizing I clicked the wrong link, I pressed the back button on my browser, and since then it keeps prompting me for 2FA. Thus I did not setup the authenticator nor save the recovery key.

One feedback I'd like to suggest, for our corporate, when we enroll users for 2FA, we make sure they setup the 2FA properly before the system actually enables the 2FA.

Example, when my staff click on enable 2FA for their account, they need to scan the QR code and then key in the code reflected in their authenticator before the system will register their 2FA.

For HWZ, a user click on 2FA and without even setting it up as in scanning the QR code nor any form of confirmation the 2FA is setup correctly, the 2FA is automatically activated.

Probably can bring this up so that HWZ can have a better 2FA governance. Apple, Google, Microsoft are using similar 2FA enrollment verification.
