Hi all,

I am moving to my new home, due to space constraint, cannot find a good spot for desktop so going to have to settle on a gaming laptop.

I only have 2k budget, can anyone recommend me a decent gaming laptop?

My laptop will mainly be using for

1) Video streaming for dramas / movie / youtube

2) Light-Medium gaming (Games I played before: WoW, Dragon Nest, Guild Wars 2, some franchise Malaysia games like Xiao ao jiang hu) Hopefully the laptop will also be able to support FPS games like BF4 in at least medium settings smoothly.

Appreciate if any bros/sis can help by providing model of the laptop, price, pros/cons briefly. If possible, where can I get the laptop from ~

Thanks in advance all :)

Hi,

Just some quick recommendations.

Asus ROG G750
i7, GTX870 4GB DDR5, 17.3" FHD @ $2298.
Pros: One of the cheapest GTX870 GB around. 2x 2.5" HDD bay, possible to put in another 2.5" SSD
Cons: Very heavy - 4.5kg. Power brick is 900gm. If you bring it out, it is 5.4kg. Above your budget

Asus ROG G56
i7, GTX850 4GB DDR3, 15.6" FHD @ $1698.
Pros: Cheaper. Weight is 2.7kg. Reasonable to carry around. No slots for SSD upgrades
Cons: The graphics is a DDR3 graphics which is sufficient for the games you play, but is just a mid-low end gaming graphics. SSD add-on can only be done by sacrificing Harddisk or the DVDRW.

MSI GE60 2PG
i7, GTX850 2GB DDR3, 15.6" FHD @ $1699.
Pros: Cheaper. Lighter Weight is 2.5kg. Reasonable to carry around.
1 mSATA SSD slot available for upgrading.
Gaming features - steelseries keyboard, steelseries software, dynaaudio etc..
Cons: The graphics is a DDR3 graphics which is sufficient for the games you play, but is just a mid-low end gaming graphics.

MSI GE60 2PC
i7, GTX850 2GB DDR5, 15.6" FHD @ $1899.
Pros: Cheaper. DDR5 graphics. Lighter Weight is 2.5kg. Reasonable to carry around. Gaming features - steelseries keyboard, steelseries software, dynaaudio etc..
2 mSATA SSD slot available for upgrading. Can do RAID 0 with the SSDs.
Cons: $100 more

MSI GE60 2PE
i7, GTX860 2GB DDR5, 15.6" FHD @ $2199.
Pros: Cheaper. GTX860 DDR5 graphics. Lighter Weight is 2.5kg. Reasonable to carry around. 2 mSATA SSD slot available for upgrading. Can do RAID 0 with the SSDs.
Gaming features - steelseries keyboard, steelseries software, dynaaudio etc..
Cons: Above your budget

Lenovo Y50-70
i7, GTX860 4GB DDR5, 15.6" FHD @ $1999.
Pros: One of the cheapest GTX860 graphics model in its class. DDR5 graphics. Weight is 2.5kg. Reasonable to carry around.
Cons: Built as a multimedia laptop, thus lack some gaming features that MSI and Asus have. SSD add-on can only be done by sacrificing Harddisk or the DVDRW.

Or you can also consider to customized from Aftershock. They are doing customized gaming models, so should be able to match something for you.

Hi PC Dreams,

If I want to buy laptop from you, do I have to physically go down your store? Or there's a channel online which I can go to and place my order.

Kindly advise, Thanks :)

Currently, we are selling through physical store and online stores through Lazada and Qoo10.

PC Dreams - Lazada Shop
PC Dreams - Qoo10 Shop

However, for Lazada and Qoo10, the variety is limited.
Thus if you unsure of what to purchase, it is advisable for you to come by our showroom at Sim Lim Square #05-47 or Funan #03-20 to check and have a feel of the machines first. :)

Cheers!

Hi PC Dreams,

I saw the model I want in Lazada which you had recommended me. MSI GE60 2PC, want to ask you if you have 0 percent interest instalment plans for certain credit cards or PC Dreams only accept cash/nets payment?

I think the left side recommended configuration will suit you.

Probably you might want to consider upgrading the SSD to larger space if you can slightly afford more than S$2,000

Yes. We have for citibank and dbs credit cards. Or you can buy from lazada as well. Think they have UOB installments. (not so sure or that, please do try out. )

Cheers!
