Got myself a 2nd hand MacBook Pro 2011 13" screen. Just upgraded th RAM. Thinking of changing to SSD, and repurpose the CD drive to house the existing HDD (512gb).

If I get a SSD to just run/launch programs, and store all files in the HDD, will 128gb SSD be sufficient.

Thinking of having in the SSD the macOS, Pages, Numbers, Keynotes, Photo, iMovie, Lightroom and probably a few other programs.

Best to get a 256GB SSD as the performance between 128 and 256 is significant. Plus the programs size are getting bigger with each update. A bigger SSD enables you to get more years out of the macbook.

Hi Jamboree,

Do you know the exact model of your macbook pro? A1278/A1507?

You don't even know the specs, how do you know it's "that much". There were already some upgrades done when I bought it. Have you surveyed the market price?
