I just got posted out from Tekong and got into 2SIR as INF Trooper, I am from leadership batch. So I am thinking, how is 2SIR? How possible is it to go SCS from 2SIR?

If someone could tell me how the structure of their training is like, it will be the best! THANKSSSSs

If you didn't get posted to command school after BMT then you will pretty much remain a man for the rest for your NSF life lor. Want to go SCS go sign on.

2SIR is not bad. I was from 5SIR, orded as a first year commander recently. Both are sister terrex battalion. Most of the time terrex will ferry you close to objective, walk about 2-3km and attack objective. Not as xiong as 1,3,4,6.

Congrats on your posting! I was from 2SIR myself and while you will pretty much remain a trooper (man) your whole army life, you will make very good friends after all the countless outfields and exercises.

As mentioned already, 2SIR is a motorized infantry bn and you won't have to walk as much as other infantry battalions during exercises.

Try to enjoy your time there!

My time 2SIR was fencer battalion. Guardsmen rappel from helicopters, we were told to just jump. Lol.

Anyway, the notice asked me to bring along all my SAF issued items..

There's way too much things if I include my necessities. I wonder if it is okay to backpack my field pack and carry my duffle?
