同源不同种啦,哥~我爸唱过God Save the Queen,我公公很可能有听过三民主義歌,沉浸在义勇军进行曲的人,都错过下南洋的船了。

For the strangest reasons, only Malaysian Chinese will identify themselves more with China than their origin country...
his accent is definitely not same root

Actually it all depends on critical thinking and train of thoughts. So many Malaysian YouTubers are actually on the opposite side.

actually criminology index on degree of infiltration, sg rank 3rd while Malaysia rank 10th. It seems that both are bad, but sg might not be better at all

if they cannot understand so complicated stuff, then explain to them in bkt..

Sg bkt got teochew, hokkien, canto, fusion style... But the key is 續湯 refill soup across all dialects bkt is also according to 禮節 and decorum, certainly not PRC communist satanic Marxist style which treat ppl like 服務員...

ie. , pretend we all communist "equals," but in real life pwn you gaogao

Think those that try to lump all Chinese people as chinese from CN, can see the mind something wrong. No need try reason with them about the rest. They totally cannot get the logic of the world.

1849–1921: the classical-dialect era.

Singapore's first Hokkien schools — 崇文閣 (1849) and 萃英書院 (1854) — taught the Chinese curriculum in Hokkien:

students sat in the courtyard reciting the 論語, 四書, 孝經, 易經, with the teacher glossing in 乡音 .

The Hokkien Huay Kuan's own record states its early schools "taught Chinese culture and values, including Analects of Confucius, in Hokkien" .

Even the 1829 mission schools predating them taught in Cantonese and Hokkien .

And each dialect group built its own: Hakka 應新 (1905), Cantonese 廣肇 (1906), Teochew 端蒙 (1906), Hokkien 道南 (1906) — before 1921, clan associations formally specified their own dialect as the medium of instruction.

The vessel and the content matched: 三字經 in Teochew, 論語 in Hokkien. Roots, by definition, were the product.

1921: the first amputation — imported from the mainland.

After the May Fourth Movement, Singapore's schools switched unanimously to Mandarin as the medium — and the New Culture agenda that came with it (打倒孔家店, vernacular over classical) is precisely what pushed 四書五經 out of the classroom .

Note the direction of the transaction: Singapore's classical tradition wasn't killed by Singapore.

It was killed by the "intellectual currents of the motherland" the tourist claims as his cultural authority.

The guardians inherited the rupture and mistook it for continuity.

1979: the second amputation — self-inflicted.

The Speak Mandarin Campaign decided a child who spoke Hokkien, Teochew, or Cantonese at home "would master neither" , and Mandarin-home rates among Chinese schoolchildren jumped from 26% to 69% in one decade.

And the "political logic" was openly stated: one Chinese language lets the state bypass the dialect-organized associations and address the community directly.

For seventy years, this "backward 坡县" ran the most root-faithful Chinese education on earth — the classics taught in the ancestral tongues, every dialect group schooling its own.

The mainland meanwhile produced a system that reads the classics in translation, speaks over the dialects, and writes in amputated characters.

The man demanding soup and kinship descends from an education system that deleted what 1849 Singapore built.

The 根 he claims is a museum his own side curated — and the docents speak better Hokkien at Thian Hock Keng than at the temple's original counterpart in Quanzhou.
