Wondering how widely the clusters will spread

Family members usually the easiest to kena, follow by workplaces. The rest like mall/transport whether will get it or not is luck liao.

Anyway, this may be the next of next wave. Our gov should control border, recently more and more imported cases.

As of 31 December 2020, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 5 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories. Of these, 2 are family members of Case 58810 [1], and 3 are a family cluster involving a harbour pilot (Case 58817) who was detected from Rostered Routine Testing (RRT).*

2.* *In addition, there are 25 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Amongst them, 5 are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents, and 9 are foreign domestic workers. In total, there are 30 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.*

3.* *We are aggressively tracing and testing the close contacts of the community cases so as to ringfence these cases and prevent further transmission. In addition, MOH will commence a special testing operations to test individuals who had boarded the ships that Cases 58810 and 58817 had recently worked on. We will also test harbour pilots, marine surveyors and ship repair workers in the coming days, regardless of their RRT schedule, to determine their COVID-19 status. In view of the recent cases involving the marine sector, we will review the need to tighten our precautionary measures for these workers.*

Point 2, does it mean some imported are on SHN instead of isolation? Quite dangerous right?

I thought phase 3 will be better for the community. I am wrong to assume. End up phase 3 is for more covid positive to come in.

Heng i take swab test every 2 weeks. I always negative. But i dontknow who is positive since many pple nv do swab. Hai. Life not fair.

Actually what is harbour pilot?

when ship come in or out of berths at the oil terminals or PSA, they need a person who knows the waters and configuration and who is qualified to be on board the ship to guide.

Case 58810 is a Singapore Permanent Resident who works as a Marine Surveyor at Lloyd’s Register Singapore. His work entails working onboard vessels docked at Sembcorp Marine Admiralty Yard.

Actually phase 2 and 3 no difference to local leh, 5 vs 8 only, alot doing >5 before phase 3 also.

But looking at the high number of imported cases, it seem there's thing not disclose to us. Seem like phase 3 allow more import.

The govt really need to tighten up on enforcement for Phase 3 opening. There has already been clear warning that the new COVID 19 strain is more transmissible.

COVID 19 did not affect children as much as adults previously but the new strain has leveled the odds. UK has reported significant cases of COVID infection amongst children and they are still trying to establish if the vaccine is able to "see" the virus in its mutated form.

What if the new strain starts spreading amongst our schools due to a few superspreaders? Will the govt be taking risk to inoculate school children despite under 16s and pregnant ladies being largely excluded from the trials and taking a gamble on potential complications or deaths.

Not sure if we end up with another costly lockdown too and reserves being depleted again. HSK has already drawn from the reserves more than 10 times the amount use in 2009 Great Financial Crisis (and that was returned within 1 term of govt). Another massive drawdown (without returning a single cent to coffers yet) will be really quite irresponsible to future generations given that they are likely to face higher frequencies and more dangerous pandemics or Disease X.
