I am multi-skill to unbelievable stage, most people who come in contact me only see one side of me. So different age, they know me differently ba. Cases 58840 and 58841

Case 58840 is a 79 year-old female Singaporean who is a retiree and Case 58841 is a 50 year-old male Singaporean who is currently unemployed. They are relatives of Case 58817, and reside at Marine Crescent. On 28 December, both cases developed acute respiratory infection symptoms but did not seek medical treatment. On 30 December, they were both placed on quarantine as they had been identified as close contacts of Case 58817.

These 2 cases caught via contact tracing 2 days after they developed symptoms simply coz they are close contacts of an earlier case.

Sick with symptoms for 2 days but didn't want to visit a SASH GP clinic so no swabbing can be done.

Need govt intervention one lah.

Yep......no early treatment (various factors, including an overwhelmed system) has been identified by other countries as one of the main factors in severe sickness and mortality.
In addition to pre-existing illnesses.


I mean, this is common sense......and with COVID it can really deteriorate very fast within even 12 hours. (no need 1 day)
That happens even if one is young, check that case of our OCBC manager who was sick but still fine one morning but less than half a day later needed to be intubated liao.

It is really not the same as those mild flu-like covid cases.

The index cases of both clusters are asymptomatic and picked up from surveillance.

This shows the virus is still circulating quietly.

Thanks for this tidbit - this proves that asymptomatic or extremely mild cases can still cause others to have symptomatic cases, severe cases or even ICU (esp if they have pre-existing illnesses etc).

I agree....it's ultimately a matter of probability/chance as well.

I can only hope the tracetogether adoption can be ramped up fast, ie depends on the token really as those who wants to use app already would have downloaded.
