32GB Ram usage query

Hi,

For guys with 32GB RAM, do your RAM usage ever exceeded 16GB ?

I have been monitoring my RAM usage, it seems to be capped at 16~17 GB, even during gaming. Win10 detects all 32GB.

Is there a setting that i missed? or the extra 16GB is really

Install VMWare Trial and allocate 12 GB per VM. Make sure you increase memory reservation to 25GB. Then start 2 VM instances.

See if you can reach more than 16gb usage.

The extra 16GB is really extra for your usage.
Normal user 8GB is more than enough.
32GB is usually for people running multiple Virtual Machines.

Yup mostly for people with Virtual Machines or like for myself I run a couple of databases, programs etc when I'm coding, but then again 16gb is more than enough for most times.

Most people will not use anything more than 8GB of ram. Some games and applications will push the boundary, but still will largely fall within 16GB. So it is not unexpected that you will see a bunch of unused ram with 32GB installed. I used to take about 10GB as ramdisk to utilised the excess memory.

If u really want to use up some of the extra memory, can allocate some of them as ram disk.

Evan you assigned each VM 12GB, it does not means each VM need 12GB physically. VM=Virtual Machine. They can share memory as virtual, just like more memory will probably make the machine run faster. But usually demand is on CPU vs memory.

You are right, especially on Win10 machine.

Isn't the Windows default monitoring accurate, i.e. Ctrl+Alt+Del, Task Manager?

Wtf 150 tabs?? How long u take to find the correct tab? The idea of tabs is make it easier to switch between website not as bookmark lol.

Theres no need to "find" the correct tab. Ctrl-K, type a few keywords, switch to Tab. Less than 2 seconds will hit back to what I want.

With different uni modules, it's easier to spam and leave tabs open, then use the above method rather than bookmarking endless websites. I only bookmark leisure/social sites which is a few.
